Is this the same D.D. last year, he loved the club and wanted to stay here for a long time to come.

strange thing for me is he could well be just a bench warmer there, as the have 3 or 4 decent midfielders ,also it wont help him much if he still has designs on playing for England

By moving to a team where the three midfielders he's competing with are all better?

By cashing in before he spends a season on our bench and his value plummets.

I don't blame him one bit. He's coming into his prime and a big boy comes knocking after an indifferent season. They may never come again & a world cup awaits if he can turn in some performances for them. Give the lad a break we've had 4 years of honest graft. He has expressed his preference - but we hold the cards.

The issue will be our owners / manager / DOF responsibility if they let him go for peanuts & no nailed on contingency. Save your ire for them and not DD.

We will see.

At the end of the day, you can't blame the bloke for wanting to go to a club where he'll probably play with the bloke he's played the best football lf his career with, with the chance to win more premier league - and maybe European - honours.

Would be a bit pissed off if he went, but would wish him all the best providing Chelsea match our valuation. Equally, I'd expect him to get his head down and crack on if the transfer doesn't go through.

Honestly, the aggression and ill-feeling directed at some of our players on here for wanting to make the most of their careers is mental. They're not Leicester fans, this is work for them. They gave us something we'll likely never see again in our lifetime. It's not like he's ****ing off to West Brom because they're offering more money, he wants to compete at the top level. Fair enough IMO.

History has shown, players who publicly / privately hand their notice in to leave, rarely better their situation after departure.

DD has made a mistake.  RM could be feeling a little of the same. Who knows?

If he ends up staying he may well put in a "worldy of a season" for us to make up for it. This must be considered as much a possibility for him as being benched and mardy all year.

No, but we are. If we want to vent a little frustration it's understandable. I've been pissed off when lots of players have left but usually, if they've been decent, it's forgiven quickly enough.

Kitson, Draper, Lennon, Heskey, Joachim and Kante were all treacherous little twats on the day they left but I still hoped they'd do well once the dust settled.

Maybe not with Kitson but he did go to the sheep.

If Chelsea don't bid what we value him at we shouldn't sell otherwise this will happen again with ndidi and gray next year. Big clubs think there can take us for mugs.

clubs saw what we sold kante for and without appreciating the nuances think they can do the same

Come on mate - Muhammed Ali was involved in one of the most controversial movements of his era with the Nation of Islam, are you saying he should be no inspiration to people? Fidel Castro held some appalling views regarding homo-sexuality, but surely he can inspire people? I'm not comparing Vardy to either, but using those as examples to illustrate a fairly obvious point.

I can understand someone moving to a big club to play in Europe, win trophies and a bigger pay packet but the bottom line is he signed a contract that was very favourable to him a year a go and set him up for life.

The club aren't standing in his way and accepted he can go for a certain price. If Chelsea don't want to pay it then maybe he won't be as valued there as he thinks. We have every right to ask for a decent fee and not be rolled over and have our tummies tickled whilst Chelsea dictate the price.

Was more than happy to see him move forward and get the gig he wants to see his career out but do the ****er properly and wait until the offer comes in and the club ask you if you want to leave, not the other way around!!

True. Discretion is an admirable trait. However with 48 hours of this ludicrous bun fight remaining, I expect it is hard to remain true to such values. Particularly if your coked up agent is on your cell every 5 mins!!

Yawn...

Why is a competition as to how long you've supported the team? Does that mean your opinion is more valid, then??

In which case we should all bow down to the old feckers who dribble their soup and can't remember when to stop pissing...?

I resemble that remark! Sometimes it's hard to start also, but on such occasions, I've found beer can help!

Didn't Pearson describe him as "a complex character"? Remember him playing for Barnsley against us,having a good game and we signed him.......he has to move now after this.

In this mixed up muddled thread, could it hit 200 pages. Is it possible.

Fortunately it'll be over tomorrow so it's unlikely.

If I'm honest, I hope they cough up the cash, or close enough (£35m) that we can accept and get over this. It's obviously going to be very awkward for both fans and Danny if he doesn't go now. And this will also be subject to a new midfielder coming in...
