But you were comparing james to everyone on the pitch and using a those ratings to suggest he was the worst on the pitch. You see the problem there when you seemingly agree it's weighted in favour certain positions and events.

Good idea about the checklist probably easier to just block idiots.

I say again, it pinches a little, the number of times you are rude to people on here (idiots etc) and just seem to get away with it? It seems very apparent. It's likely this post will be deleted, but it makes it a sound observation nonetheless.

A quick note on Who Scored ratings. On this season's ratings, Matty James is doing better than:

Cesc Fabregas

Jake Livermore

James Milner

Tom Carroll

Tom Cleverley

Joe Allen

Mario Lemina

Mark Noble

Davy Propper

Tiemoué Bakayoko

Claudio Yacob

James Ward-Prowse

Morgan Schneiderlein

Jeff Hendrick

Moussa Sissoko

Gylfi Sigurdsson

James Morrison

HarryArter (No spaces, 1 syllable)

James McArthur

Davy Klassen

Ander Herrera

And has an equal score to

Fellani and Wanyama

Seems he's well in the middle rank of CMs at least, on this "metric". Unfortunately, Who Scored seems to be a bit shit at filtering, so you can't filter down to just centre midfielders. Where are the bloody graphs, eh? Supposed to be a stats site and they don't even sort you out with a nice selection of plots so you can evaluate the distribution of players.

Have these players played all 3 games?

You can if you chose positions

You also need to filter appearance to 3

otherwise you are including people like Cesc after a red card ??

I think it's telling that we know Chelsea are desperate to sign a holding midfielder and they aren't linked to any apart from DD.

maybe we are being cocky that they won't cough up the 40m. They will have to In the end and then we'll be scrambling around for left overs as players such a small krychowiak (is apparently already in talks with West Brom) are already gone.

Cool, didn't realise the filter was hidden away on detailed.

Results: James is 22 out of 34 CMs/DMs who've played 3 games. Wilf is 20th. The best 2 are Pogba and Matic. Fairly middle of the road stuff then.

Come on Col, you're really not complaining about someone calling someone else an idiot? This isn't year 3 playground.

I'd be concerned if we had too many players on our books who didn't feel they were going places with us. Last year the lack of purpose and drive was an even bigger problem than Kante's absence - as a whole there was a sense of 'realistically, how much better is it going to get for me at Leicester?' That was how the title hangover manifested itself. And with the CL still to play for too.

It's a worry that, if we get off to a poor start and are looking mid-table at best after 8 or 9 games, that lack of purpose will resurface. For this reason, there's a good chance that our answers may lie in players who weren't caught up in the fairy-tale. If we show too much faith in those who were then, as professional as the likes of Drinkwater may be, and as willing as they are to just get on with it, I wonder whether the same mood will take grip.

I'm sure a club can cope with a few grumbles, but if there's a widespread feeling of wanting out then it may be worth helping a few of them along the way. Whether Drinkwater ends up falling into that category or not, I don't know.

Thankfully I think most are good enough characters to not let it get I them. A half arsed DD is still better than King. Im

sure the interest will still be there Jan and it gives us more time to get replacements.

Laugahble by Chelsea to leave so many signings so late. Something not right there, drama seems to follow their managers about.

Considering I didn't even call anyone an idiot. I said I would block idiots, subtle but rather important difference.

No worries though, point taken.

They seem to have a very factional management structure. Lots of people to fall out with.

And you're right about Drinkwater. If we've approached this in such a way that he understands why, no, you can't leave after a certain point in time, and he's happy to go along with it, then that'd be good business in itself.

I still wonder whether we could deal with some of our own issues a little earlier in the summer, though. Last year we were negotiating our new contracts in August and September. This year, like last, we're scrambling to do deadline day business.

Regardless of prices quoted in the media it's £40m or no deal! If Chelsea pay up Drinky's gone. If they don't he stays

But do we have a replacement in waiting?

Like I said, I don't think they will have much choice, they may decide to struggle through till the Jan window if they get Barkley in re home grown players for their CL squad.

We should  have imposed a cut off date on both him and mahrez so we have time to get replacements in. Maybe we have?

Like I've just mentioned in another thread pls don't be so naive in thinking the owners would sell such an influential player without a replacement lined up. It's frustrating I know but have faith in the people in charge. We're in good hands!!

But it isn't that simple Albert. The later the time the less chance a replacement will be able to sign as his club wouldn't have time to realise his replacement. . Would we refuse 40m on Thursday pm because we can't  get get the replacement in?

Surely Chelsea will pay £40m this close to deadline day.

Not the midfielder I want to see gone.  let's hope Albert is right about the replacement lined up.

i assume we will have to pay a little over the odds for the replacement as they know it will be dependent on a lot of money coming in.

When you say good hands are you talking about Macia and Rudkin because that is simply laughable. The owners might know what they're doing, if a little naive but the executives at our club are dog shit and we need an overhaul.

Albert said in the post you've quoted:

From Albert's posts:

No offer of £40m. No deal.

£40m offered. We have no replacement lined up. No deal.

£40m offered. We have a suitable replacement. Deal.

It's pretty simple. We aren't in a position where the player has to be sold. Let's not panic.
