Drinkwater

Harry Arter is the only realistic player I could think of that we could get who would be a good Drinkwater replacement, and not even sure I'd be THAT happy with that.

I doubt any Premier League clubs will be selling their starting XI players this close to the end of the window...which is quite ironic that we may be possibly selling Drinky. I think our best bet to get value for money would be to buy a Krychowiak sort of player, who is at a big club but which isn't good enough for the first team.

Albert said in the post you've quoted:

pls don't be so naive in thinking the owners would sell such an influential player without a replacement lined up.

From Albert's posts:

No offer of £40m. No deal.

£40m offered. We have no replacement lined up. No deal.

£40m offered. We have a suitable replacement. Deal.

It's pretty simple. We aren't in a position where the player has to be sold. Let's not panic.

No deal then as there'll be no replacement that we can get over the line in 48 hours. We'd need a week minimum.

Transfer request gone in according to Sky’s debate show... they were just going to a break though so could be trying to keep people watching lol

Handed in a transfer request

Yeah? Don't see what difference it should make. If Chelsea cough up they get him. Same as it was before. Hope we hold strong.

As much as you may not rate the people who work behind the scenes, it'd be foolish to assume they sit around waiting for a player to be sold before making enquiries.

They know the situation with Danny. They've known for some time.

Watching The Debate show and they have just said that Drinky has handed in a transfer request. I still think If he was to leave we wouldn't miss him. I would wish him all the best. Be a bit weird seeing our title winning Midfield partnership at Chelsea though

When you say good hands are you talking about Macia and Rudkin because that is simply laughable. The owners might know what they're doing, if a little naive but the executives at our club are dog shit and we need an overhaul.

Please give me factual reasons why you think that?

I'm not necessarily saying they do that but I know fine well that we don't act fast enough. We dither and often puts bids in or make enquiries for players and then never follow it up. It leads to clubs and players bemused by us.

It does make a differnce

it means we get 40m if they don't quite pay 40m as we no longer have to pay his loyalty bonus.

It also means the player is putting it on record that he wants out.  I read a while ago he wouldn't do this so something has changed. Maybe he now sees the chance we get a replacement lined up receding fast and wants to up the ante.

So we have mahrez and DD both publically stating they want to leave the club. On any level, that isnt good for the dressing room.

I'm sure this came as a massive shock to everyone. I mean, 90 odd pages of speculation? Who'd have thunk it...

Totally agree. Makes no difference at all, apart from to leave a very sour taste if true, after the way we've saved his career after he failed to make it at ManUre.
