He's just coming back from a broken leg

Why are all arsenal signings made of glass?

They must have some really poor fitness coaches. So many players leave arsenal and their injury frequency drops like a stone, Wilshire would be a cheap gamble but wages could be an issue, if he's demanding 80k+ per week and he ends up injured or can't settle we may just get lumbered with him.

I don't think he would be cheap. can't see that old goat Wenger letting him go for any less than 20m and his wages would be big.

shame about his injury record. He was mustard a few years back.

dont think he will be the player he once was though

I get your point but how is that related to a broken leg? I doubt anything they do at training made the bones in his leg more susceptible to breaking. Injuries like that happen in football.

Oh I know I just can't help but notice how many injuries their players get, wilshire included not counting this break.

There's something in the water at the Emirates obviously.

I gave an example of the mould of player I want us to go for and explained why.

Because the point of it being a ****ing example is that it's a rule of thumb, I literally just gave you the definition of the word "Example" and you're still questioning it.

Example : a thing characteristic of its kind or illustrating a general rule.

This really isnt hard to grasp, If you said we need a winger I could give you EXAMPLES of what sort of players we could go for,

For example I could say "Let's get a Mahrez type player in" (Agile, skillful, decent vision, relatively quick)

Or I could give an example of a player like Chris brunt (Strong, great crosser, good passer, relatively good in defence aswell as attack)

The entire point of an example is that it does not have to be in the sense that I am saying "go out and sign Gylfi", It's entirely relevant in the fact I'm giving you an EXAMPLE of the mould of player I would like (Relatively strong, agile, vision, passing, shooting, can tackle)

By all means disagree with my opinion on what type of player we should sign and why, but ffs don't question me giving an example saying it's not relevant when by definition it's completely relevant in the context I've defined.

It's like getting blood out of a stone and you've dragged this on to the boredom of everyone, what i've said is entirely relevant to the opinion I gave, I'm not going to entertain your nonsense any longer on this subject, you clearly need to read the definition and go back over the conversation.

I think you need to go back over the conversation, you were clearly stating you wanted an attacking midfielder not a CM with attacking qualities. There's a big difference. If we played an attacking midfielder in a midfield 2 we'd get overran, that was the whole point of my argument against you then you plucked out Goretzka who isn't even an attacking midfielder. You're just contradicting your original point.

Yeah you're right, something must be amiss down there! Taking any of their sicknotes would be a massive risk. I'd be against it. We seem the complete opposite, with the obvious exceptions.

Can someone please tell where this Shakey rumour started

The start of the thread is usually the place I go before asking such questions.

Try again.

IF Mahrez stays, we need ATLEAST 3 players.

CB - Absolute must

RB - meh, have a few that can play there but no real competition

CAM - ABSOLUTE MUST. We are so one dimensional, we need a CAM with some vision so we can change it up to something like a 4-2-3-1 and actually allow Vardy to sit on the back line ready for through balls.

Weighted through balls don't need a lot of space behind to cause problems, over the top is pointless.

Someone LIKE Gylfi Sig would have been perfect because he can play in a 4-4-2 OR in a CAM position which allows us to change formation without making too many changes, Ndidi can play CM and CDM which gives us flexibility.

Without an attacking midfielder we will just be predictable this season, get someone in and let DD go if he wants to.

I know exactly what I said, and I mentioned GS because he can slot into the CM role as well as CAM.

My post says cam but clearly clarifies it needs to be a player who can also play 4-4-2 I.e a CM/CAM, You'll also find Goretzka has played an attacking midfielder role for Schalke although normally plays CM/CDM, which is also consistent by the fact I mentioned in following posts signing a CM/CDM if we don't get an attacking minded player and allowing Drinky or Ndidi to push forward.

I'm seriously not debating with you on this subject any more, you have not read my posts properly, completely misinterpreted my words, not taking my words into context, and then you've told me that what I've said is not relevant when I've proven by definition it is. I'm done with this conversation, I'm seriously bored of you on this perticular subject, try to spin it any way you want. It won't wash, have a great evening.

Where did Shakey say "watch this space"?

He said he hoped to get in 1 or 2 more before the window closers.

Agreed. We don't need any more 'creative' players. Sure these are the ones people like to watch and get excited about signing but we can be effective without one. We're all about pace and power going forward and besides we've always got Mahrez/Gray if we do need a bit of magic from time to time. Against both Brighton and Sheff Utd it felt like we controlled the game quite comfortably and had the potential to explode into action pretty much whenever we needed to. There's a real professional feel about the squad this year. Obviously it would be great if we could get someone with pace, power AND creativity but how many players like that are there outside of the world elites like CR7? Please nobody say Wilfred Zaha...

I'd love us to sign a really attack minded RB. I mean like a super offensive type too not just someone who occasionally gets forward. Thinking of a Victor Moses type (not him but you know). I think it would be so much fun if we could play someone like that and Chilwell in our home games and then revert to Simpson and Fuchs when we go away or maybe when the really big boys come to the KP.

Wilfred Zaha.

Seriously he looked great in Hong Kong.:)

Would have loved for us to go in for Kevin Wimmer. Versatile centre half, good on the ball.... unfortunately (and understandbly) not getting look in at Spurs with Vertonghen and Big Tobs. West Bromwich have their claws all over him it would seem.

So would I. He's still young as well, 24 I think.
