You wonder if he'll be back to pre ACL form by the world cup warm ups, couod end up missing put completely.

I don't think he will make it & certainly not if he doesn't make it for 6N squad as i think Jones will want to start to settle the squad from there. Not sure he'd make it anyway with Jones fixation of Smith/Farrell 10/12 combo.
Personally i'd like him to start freshing it up more, give the whole gig to Smith & would like to see someone new coming up behind like Joe Simmonds, then the likes of Jacob Umaga, Fin Smith & Charlie Atkinson

Reading that G Ford is out for the coming season after undergoing ACL surgery from the final injury, gutted for him & hope he comes back fit & well but pleased it weakens Sale.

That’s terrible for sale

Do they take out insurance for that kind of thing ?  what happens with a football player who signs a pre agreement ahead of his contract running out and then suffers an ACL ?  Presumably it’s the same scenario ??

yep really couldn't come at a worse time with AJ moving to Bristol freeing up the slot for Ford.

Yeah everything will be tied off with regards insurance & insurance will pay a percentage of his wages although not quite sure if his wages will now be deducted from the team salary cap freeing up for them to sign another big name replacement or if thats it, i guess that's it as they will probably register him in the hope he is fit for the back end of the season.

I wouldn’t have thought they could drop his wages from their salary cap - at the very least they would have to undertake he wouldn’t play at all this season. But then what happens if a player gets injured in week 1?  perhaps it’s different because the player suffered the injury before the end of the previous season.

Premiership delayed but goes ahead this weekend.

Games tonight called off but rescheduled over the weekend along with the rest.

So no football but Rugby starts 👍

It was a good game, really enjoyable watch. Not the right result obviously (near as dammit held out) but credit to Chiefs, they kept on at it. Some absolutely heroic defending  (3 held up! Not seen that before!) Can't knock the effort by either side.

Shame not to hold out for the win, but it was a pretty heroic defensive effort in the second-half.

Look a bit blunt going forward but there are still several players to come back. I back Tigers for another top 4 finish. I think Saracens will win the title though.

I know he's got his critics on here but I'm genuinely devastated by the death of Eddie Butler.

It wasn't for everyone but the flowery, poetic nature that he brought to rugby broadcasting was all just part of the fun and the panto of the international game to be honest. His partnership with Moore in particular was like a classic comedy duo they were great.

Massive loss.

Oh that’s so sad. His passionate commentary was just sublime.

That's no age.  :( A sad loss.

His commentary of French names in games, which he did with a flourish, will live long in the memory.

East Midlands derby tomorrow. The Saints line-up looks immense to be fair. After losing all 3 derbies last season, I think Northampton might give Tigers a bit of a hammering tomorrow.
