So Silva isn't even allowed to train with Leicester until January according to the Merc.

What a farce this situation is. FIFA really do suck.

FIFA has no control over where or who a player trains with. The player and his club

decide where he trains. I suspect it is LCFC who have told Silva to train on his own.

Yea ok then we want to make a signing that we paid 22mill for unfit and not train  and get used of his team mates because we can't play him till Jan, this is a joke thou yea??

There is more at stake here than a player losing a week or twos training.

Do you really think FIFA can tell a club or player( not under disciplinary

sanctions) when or where that player can train?

Only our beloved LCFC could make a Cock up of this magnitude!!!...

If he is not allowed to train with us there most be a reason behind this from the club and it should strengthen our case for an appeal. There are plenty of angles on this just one could be the apparent penalty clause handed to the club. A penalty of £80,000 a week for 19 or so weeks for being 14 seconds late and a punishment handed to a player who has done nothing wrong happy for anyone to explain how that is fair and reasonable and for anyone going to say rules are rules and we missed a time deadline (which is open to debate) yesterdays game had a minimum of 4 minutes of time to be added on to the 2nd half though commentators suggested that was a good couple of minutes short Injury to James & Moses, goals and substitutions including Moses leaving the pitch slower than  GTF sprinting indicate that there was a time keeping error also if you care to look the ref finishes the game just before the 4 minutes is up.

Have the Club made anymore statements on this mess?

Don't think we've had any statements on this mess, too date! Only that we've agreed terms, awaiting FIFA

Think the most alarming thing for me is a football governing body fifa has allowed a situation for a player not allowed to play there for denying him his sole right to work,, has to be against the law.. human rights and all that.

If the appeal gets rejected and he's deemed a lcfc player he'll train with the squad guaranteed

I hope you're right.

The article made it sound as though it's because he doesn't have international clearance which implies he'll be training on his own until Jan. If that's true it's a crying shame for him and would seem like a punishment for doing nothing wrong. The biggest victim is the player. We do need him but we also have other midfielders. He has a job that he can't perform through no fault of his own.

I hope once the appeal is over he can train with the team, preferably being eligible to play as well.

It's the player who I feel sorry for

The game is about the players and how they work together as a team. FIFA have responsibilities for administering and ensuring teams abide by their rules. Common sense is required in determining any issues that arise. In this instance the governing body appears to have adopted an inflexible and bureaucratic stance.

While LCFC are denied use of the player he is prevented from pursuing his profession. The few seconds is a trivial breach of the regulations, someone in Zurich should consider the impact on the player and act sensibly and fairly. If it is made plain that discretion has been applied on this occasion no precedent need be created.

Just seen he's meant to be in the stands today, dunno if that's been mentioned

I've heard that FIFA have forced Silva to leave the planet and orbit around it till January.

Belvior Drive to Adrien Silva
Belvior Drive to Adrien Silva
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on

Belvior Drive to Adrien Silva
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may Rudkin's love be with you
Fouteen,Thirteen, Twelve, Eleven
Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Lift off

This is Belvior Drive to Adrien Silva
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirt you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

This is Adrien Silva to Belvior Drive
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today

For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Leicester City is blue
And there's nothing I can do

Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my Shakey I love him very much he knows

Belvior Drive to Adrien Silva
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Adrien Silva?
Can you hear me, Adrien Silva?
Can you hear me, Adrien Silva?
Can you...

Here am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Leicester City is blue
And there's nothing I can do

I agree. Totally pathetic by FIFA

It's not pathetic form FIFA.

It's very frustrating for us of course but understandable why FIFA have to implement this by the letter of the law.

They can't make exceptions for one club and then not for another, that would make a mockery of FIFA and be very dangerous in the long run.

We missed the deadline so we have to face all the consequences associated with that, however annoying they are.

Fine the Club then..

But it's not the player's fault and he shouldn't be made to suffer!

I'm sure being paid 100k a week for doing FA for 3 months will soften the blow...

I find this line of argument a bit tedious, players want to play not sit on their arses for 3 months at a time

Agreed. If Portugal qualify for the World Cup it's a big season for him as well. He'll have half a season to bed in and get used to the Premier League. I think Portugal would take him regardless of form but it could cost him his place in the side, especially if a lack of match practice hampers his game during international games between now and Jan.

I think what's pathetic is the inability to train with the team. I get the not being eligible to play but not being able to train as well could actually be a punishment with consequences that reach beyond January.
