Something must be going on behind the scenes otherwise a statement would have been announced one way or the other.

Yes, I guess there's a lot going on with the various Legal Departments. The longer the silence the weaker I suspect the FIFA position is. They should just fine the offending party 10% of the transfer fee and move on.

Yes, that's pretty much what the Articles have said. But straight away I see a flaw in that midnight is at a different time in each country, so which country do you go by. Also, who sets the Clock?.

Or is each clock set to local time, In which case some will gain and some will lose out by seconds and minutes. It all seems very amateurish with so much at stake for everybody.

The very fact that these articles are appearing in newspapers leads me to believe that FIFA are trying to quell any challenge to its authority or system, as they are worried or unsure of the outcome of such a challenge.

The only clock that matters is the clock on the TMS system web server, which being a Fifa system I will assume is located somewhere in Switzerland. This time will be consistent to all users of the system and used to timestamp all transactions, probably to the nearest millisecond.

Users of the system will see the time displayed, but in their local time so if we see 22:30:25 bst, a user in France will see 23:30:25, but there time will move to 26 seconds at exactly the same time as ours.  It's all within the system so everyone is synchronised to the same time, just displayed in local time. If we had a 1am deadline as shown within the system, that's the only deadline that mattered.

It's not amateurish at all, it's the complete opposite. The system ensures everything matches up from all parties, and audits every transaction to ensure it's valid.

You're forgetting we sold Schlupp for  £12m in between those deals lol

I forgot about Schlupp. But to be fair to him I believe he was mishandled by the Club and was a much better player than given credit for, as he's demonstrating at CP. But it was still a good bit of business.

I can't see Chelsea getting 35 million of value out of Drinkwater.

As he's demonstrated at Crystal Palace?

Really.. Have I missed something?

I thought he looked good on saturday... nice beard, clearly has two legs, knows how to watch a game.

After last years debacle, and now this, I am totally convinced he will never play for us. Knocked down in Morrisons car park is my guess.

And even if he really does play one day, and he is amazing, I will forever be haunted by the thought of what might have happened if we had got him last season. :(

They are not legal arguments, they are regulatory issues with FIFA, who have no legal jurisdiction over anything.

The owners know better than to air arguments over complex regulatory issues in public.

Think what you like Pal but the normal stance taken in crisis situations is to say something, however bland.

He would have cost £45m euros last season.

Feel better now?

I got picked up last week fir using thr crisis word.

However in difficutl times it is impirtsnt to controlbthe agenda and avoidibg looking like a hostage to circumstance.

I suspect tfe radii silancebus brcause the ckub are on a stucky wicket and dont know what to say.

Still... the info in this thread suggests that the system is a bit chaotic and that there might be both precident and reasonableness to shift fifa to a settlement.

I think the club need to say something... surely they have some pr advisors?

No idea what you are on about.

Schlupp was shit here; given every opportunity he deserved; and no better at Palace!

An athlete, but a terrible footballer.

45 million europounds. How much does that amount to in a real currency?

Ultimately, yes we should have bought him rather than spend a fortune on strikers who've so far done virtually nothing due to lack of talent or game time. We suffered massively losing Kante and put all of our hopes on Mendy being an adequete replacement. I'm not here to slate any of our players but in that particular window we should've broke the bank for Silva and maybe only signed one striker! Claudio finally got his way, signed Mendy and the rest is history.

Yes! A thousand times yes.

Sure they don't want to go annoying FIFA as they will tighten the noose, but this is not a legal case at the moment, and if it becomes one it will be a civil dispute. So the club can say what it wants, the fact nothing has been said is because they don't have a leg to stand on in my opinion.

I fear you are correct.  Silence is an admission we have screwed up.
