st albans fox Posted 12 September 2017 Posted 12 September 2017 sylo's comments are in line with my musing the other day re several lines of approach which are mutually exclusive. the additional info that we only get to approach this from one angle is new and worrying. FIFA will need an argument which has obvious clarity in order that the public don't see it as a 'brown paper envelope bung job'. like was said last week, once the news that they hadn't passed it off leaked out, we were in big trouble. any complex legal argument approach will, imo, be doomed to failure as FIFA will resist and by the time anything is resolved, it will be January. unless there is a simple excuse which is easy to explain to the footballing world, I cant see that we have a chance. if this was the case I would have expected it to have already been done. unless we are being ultra cautious in the knowledge that he isn't fully fit to train anyway then I'm not optimistic at all.

The thing is Sylo, that some people get snippets and whilst they are prepared to say things on here, for obvious reasons they have to be careful what and how much to divulge. It's all too easy then for some clever little keyboard warrior, in an attempt to make themselves look special , to shout in block capitals 'SOURCE!' It's almost an attempt to discredit the information straight away out of jealousy. Why not just take things for what they are or some people, who do get to know a little bit just won't bother anymore. From me anyway, thanks. It's just nice to know things are being considered for certain, which was the main tenet of your post.

foxinsocks Posted 12 September 2017 Posted 12 September 2017 I wish I had some news to tell. I wish I had some new to hear. I can see that even if the club has evidence that it is blameless or that it complied then it wouldn't help for them to make fifa look fools int he public domain... but surely some coded euphemism could be issued "we are providing fifa with the information to clarify the invents so that the matter may be swiftly resolved"

Ian Nacho Posted 12 September 2017 Posted 12 September 2017 These legal things usually take a while, unfortunately.

MC Prussian Posted 12 September 2017 Posted 12 September 2017 I wish some people would chill out, relax, sit back and take a deep breath. We're in legal territory now and should all therefore pretty much **** the **** up and let the club and lawyers do their thing. Whether Adrian Silva joins somewhere around next week or not before January, we need to have options on the pitch and work with what we've got. That's as pragmatic as I can get.
vanity Posted 12 September 2017 Posted 12 September 2017 Sounds like we need someone with relationships within FIFA, someone who can quietly run things up a flagpole, figure out which argument is the one to go with, and represent our interests in the proceeding. If we can only make one argument on appeal (?), as has been suggested, we go with the option that is the combination of persuasive/gives FIFA cover to back away from the rejection of the registration. In this situation, you want to present the appellate trier with the explanation they can use to show no fault on the part of LCFC. That is the only thing that gets this home, if there is a way of looking at this that suggests LCFC was in fact blameless. Submission timestamp, evidence that submissions at times take 15+ seconds, something like that. If you can't do it, you fvcking wait until January and you play him then, there will still be a great deal to play for, Iheanacho and Iborra and Dragovic are about ready to provide reinforcements. Iborra is critical, pair him with Ndidi, let's see what that looks like, we are in desperate need of a MF who can start the break the way Kante used to, definitely not Ndidi's strength. Christ, if only we could recall Mendy. We're going to wish we had him in a month.

I'd rather we keep banging on and on and on about how we fooked up, why we fooked up, who was responsible for us fooking up, how unreasonable FIFA are, what we should do about it, what we are doing about it ... and whether the tea lady is more than she seems ....

It's real-time satire, really. You wake up each new morning, hoping for progress in the case and are instead treated to 30+ more pages of pointless discussion in this thread.

Wymsey Posted 12 September 2017 Posted 12 September 2017 At the stage where if the appeal is unsuccessful, I have confidence in the current midfield to do well, and look forward to Silva coming to improve the ranks there in January.
