Many years ago my then husband and I took our touring caravan out for the first time. We inadvertently drove into a traveller site, and we got stuck and couldn't turn round. 

 

The travellers all came running out, and before we knew it they'd unhitched the caravan, while we just watched, expecting them to try to clear off with it I suppose. 

 

They turned it round for us, we turned the car round, they hitched it back on and waved us off

You never miss an opportunity to post this, do you? That's at least three times by my reckoning.

 

I've been doing quite a bit of business with Travellers recently and they've been fine; no one tried to rob me , or cheat me, or fight me. Nobody vandalised my car. I've been in their homes (which were spotless, by the way) and eaten with them. I received the same respect from them that I gave to them.

 

You actually make my point very well - you're judging an entire demographic based on one incident with one set of Travellers.
