It is heart warming to see proper debate about something that atually matters this morning :)

Although I’m expecting something this contentious to prompt the mods into locking the thread. It was good while it lasted.

OK... so, the (full) State Pension goes up to £200 per week in April.

Thats a BLOODY good deal.

May be unpopular opinion, lol

The downside is that they're going to insist we pay NI until the day we retire, in all probability.

Thats true, but NI also covers unemployment benefit too.

I've got 27 more years to work, and am aiming to retire 6 months early, at the same time as the wife.

But we don't have unemployed people - everyone has a job, being paid enough to live on...

Landlordism has a HUGE part to play in this.

I don't agree with it at all.

The amount of GDP for state pensions is still low compared to other European countries. The triple lock has helped to at least redress the balance as previously the state pension fell below wage increases

I really like ready salted. And Hula Hoops (plain or beef).

Love Wotsits and Scampi Fries.

Weirdo.

The smell alone is enough to put me off.

Reminds me of... well, you know.

Seeing as these have just taken a miserable edge of the Leicester game, I'd like to throw Chorizo flavour Pipers crisps into the mix.

Their Jalapeño and Dill flavour are amazing.

And these are sensational.

However sorry to detract from the current topic, but here's a (possibly) unpopular opinion:

The match threads on here are more reactionary than Parler in the aftermath of the 2020 US Election. And that's saying something.
