I would drop Mahrez and play shinji imo
Callabinho Posted 23 September 2017 Posted 23 September 2017 4-3-3 or 3-5-2... Kasper Albrighton Dragovic Morgan Fuchs Chilwell Iborra N’didi Gray Okazaki Vardy. or Kasper Simpson Dragovic Morgan Fuchs Iborra N’didi King Gray Vardy Albrighton 3 points are a must, work on ball retention and start winning those 50/50 battles. We can do these if we pick the right team and apply ourselves... time to cut the bullshit out and sort ourselves out.
Wymsey Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 This game we should win, but it could be a tragic one if it's a loss. Biggest game for Shakespeare so far.

All in all, Albrighton has been crap since Arsenal whereas Mahrez was one of the best performers even if he was rightfully subbed today. That's Bournemouth we're talking about. I'd start Mahrez and Gray against them, .

Ted Maul Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Can't afford to start the game like we have been doing recently- get on the front foot, seize the initiative and get the first goal. I really hope Shakey doesn't set us up to not lose again. We're great going forward, embrace it man.
Gazza M Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 I know it's a week away, so maybe early to speculate on a starting XI, but surely it's time to try and keep the bloody ball a bit more! We have better footballers than Bournemouth in every department, so let's play against them, rather than hoof and run. No respect, no sitting deep. Get on the front foot and get a win. For Fuchs sake we need it!!!! 3-4-3 please. Let's get our best in form players on the pitch. Shinji needs to carry on going. I like it now with him getting in the penalty area more. He is a real nuisance and should be encouraged to keep getting in to goal scoring positions. Mahrez needs to take time out and reflect on what he is doing and get his S**t together. Kasper Dragovic Morgan Maguire Albrighton Ndidi Iborra Chilwell Gray Vardy Okazaki Subs: Hamer, Fuchs, King, Amartey, Mahrez, Iheanacho, Slimani
Nalis Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 Yeah some of these suggested starting XI's look good but we all know the line up we are going to get....
Ric Flair Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 We've got to change things or somehow get the first goal, we are a different side when we do. But right now we only have any desire when we go behind which is scandalous, it's a lack of bravery from Shakespeare. Gray has to start, especially against the club that wanted him all summer. Mahrez has looked lost again since he didn't get his move and although Albrighton has been very poor, he looked much better 2nd half yesterday but again it was kitchen sink job after falling behind. When things are all square and we're cautious, Albrighton is highly unlikely to be a match winner. How we sort out this midfield without Silva is beyond me, it was the same last season without Kante. We had Amartey or King and time and time again we were exposed. It's happening again, pathetic from those is charge of our club. Another season wasted and dicing with relegation because of it. Dragovic wasn't even on the bench yesterday but I hope if we go 3-5-2 that he immediately comes in, seems comfortable on the ball. That said it would be harsh to drop Simpson but something's got to give. Maybe we try 4-3-3 with Albrighton tucking in as a 3rd central midfielder and Gray, Vardy and either Okazaki or Mahrez up front. Could be a car crash and 3-5-2 seems the more obvious change but then how do you get Gray or Mahrez in there and still offer our mediocre midfield protection?
The Doctor Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 4-3-1-2: kasper simpson morgan maguire fuchs ndidi iborra king gray iheanacho vardy get 3 across the middle, would rather gray than Mahrez as the ten - Riyad tends to look lost there while iirc gray plays there for England u21s occasionally.
Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 If we're serious about staying in the Premier League it should be Kasper Simpson Morgan McGuire Chilwell Iborra N'didi Albrighton Gray Shinji Vardy
st albans fox Posted 24 September 2017 Posted 24 September 2017 4-3-3 to get three in the middle of midfield is not going to work for us as Simpson is not an overlapping full back. against Bournemouth we MUST have three in the middle - they are pretty well the most hard working side in the prem - king has similar stats to shinji and drops in to make their numbers overwhelming in the middle. i would go 3-5-2 with a clear week to work on it in training but I dont think shakey had the guts to do this unless we are being hammered

WigstonWanderer Posted 25 September 2017 Posted 25 September 2017 Presumably any 3atb formation is off the table. Call me crazy but I'm attracted to: Kasper Simpson Morgan Dragovic Chilwell Ndidi Maguire Gray Okazaki Albrighton Vardy Gives Maguire the freedom to forage forward as he seems to like to do without leaving big gaps. I'd like to see Kelechi in the Okazaki role, but haven't been overly impressed with his cameos so far. Gray is better on the right IMO. On the left he is too tempted to cut in and shoot every time, whereas on the left he seems to have a knack of going around the outside of the left back and creating havoc. I'm a big fan of Albrighton and I think he has been unfairly maligned recently. True his attacking form hasn't been up to his best generally (though I think he was close second half on Saturday), but he always puts in a shift defensively. Between him and Chilwell there's still plenty of attacking threat on the left.
EnglishOxide Posted 25 September 2017 Posted 25 September 2017 If Shakey starts King over a fit Iborra again and we lose I'm officially on the 'Shakespeare out' bus. It's fvcking criminal. I don't care how 'Inler like' Iborra may be. We will never know unless he gets a run of games and he is clearly a higher calibre of player than King who has had way more opportunities than he deserves to nail a starting spot in our team which is aiming for top 10. I'm sick of him being a ****ing ghost. He's ok on the ball but far too passive for a midfield 2. Why buy top class players and not integrate them into the team?
Guest MattP Posted 25 September 2017 Posted 25 September 2017 I wish people would stop exaggerating using terms like "must win" games. A must win is the last day of the season when you are a point off relegation, not half a dozen games into the season in October.
Edingleyfox Posted 25 September 2017 Posted 25 September 2017 I cannot remember the last time we played well against Bournemouth but we certainly need to get something out of the game. Would like to see 3 at the back with the extra man in midfield still has to be Vardy and Okazaki at least to start n spite of the millions spent on strikers on the bench.Need to have a look at Iborra if he is fit and find a starting place for Gray

Worried might see more of the same next weekend ? I think it is inevitable sadly Karl we are just not good enough at the moment and the team needs a good shake up. norwichfox Posted 25 September 2017 Posted 25 September 2017 Hmmmm....we don't do so good against these do we?....turning point, season kicks on from here etc.......
