I agree with everything you've said, but at the time I recon that's what most people wanted (including the owners) - i.e. To go back to where we were.

It did the trick at the time - but you're right, it's not enough now...

I think you're right.

We needed to get back yo where we were.

But now we need to kick on.  That may require different formations. ... it certsinly requires getting bew players up to speed. .  And i think it needs a much more positive approach to our tactics to get something out of games.

I'm sick of this setting us up defensively to not concede garbage. We've conceded the second most goals in the division.

Let's have a bloody go and beat them with confident, attacking football.

Didn't know it was that bad. We improved the defense but still leak goals like there is tomorrow.

The defending thing doesn't suprise me. We don't actually defend, we just drop deeper and deeper and hope that someone gets in the way. It's like watching real life table football.

Personally don't mind us playing 4-4-2 when Okazaki starts. (And on current form, he's one of first names on the list)

Kasper

Simpson

Morgan

Maguire

Chilwell

Albrighton

King

Iborra

Gray

Okazaki

Vardy.

Mahrez needs dropping, has reacted well to it in the past, and he needs to be shown that performance against Liverpool won't be tolerated. Think Ndidi could do with a break too, And with Bournemouth lining up similar to us, I don't see Iborra getting out numbered which is my main worry with him in a 2.

keep the faith guys, we're playing alright, just need a couple of results.

Table football -while since I played but I seem to recall both teams setting up with a rigid 4 4 2 formation with a lot of tracking sideways going on.Noone ever offside and no fouls,

My ex wife was a very good player supple wrists apparently.

More chance of a table football table ditching 4 4 2 than Shakespeare.

That is offset by who we've played of course.

However, don't be fooled by all this stuff about our defence 'not being a problem' and Maguire as 'solid as a rock' and all this nonsense. It isn't and he isn't.

We've gone back to leaking goals like we did under Ranners in his second season.

I think they'll completely dominate us as they're a good footballing side.

If we can string 3 passes together I think that will be a step in the right direction.

We need to make sure we don't let in to many goals in this one (6 at the back?) and if we can scrape a draw then it'll be a good result because, let's face it, watching them play and pass the ball intelligently, create space and movement they are light years ahead of us.

Of course, but it still is concerning that Brighton was the only team against which we didn't concede. Huddersfield could have shipped 2 or 3 more should they have been a bit more clinical.

Defending on set pieces is a concern, however as long as we systematically let this defense under that much of pressure they're bound to make mistakes and inevitably concede goals. I think that even Bonucci would have a hard time in this team. I can't believe that we have now to start King in the midfield. It isn't the guy's fault and he's doing what he can, but I don't see us significantly improve even against "lesser" teams if we keep two in the midfield, sit that deep and only wake-up when we're already 1 or 2 down.

I'm not convinced that we're getting the best of our players and expecting this game to be a real test for Shakespeare.

Yes it does, if Bournemouth put in an average performance they'll beat us easily.

On what basis? They are in poor form and seem to have a problem scoring goals.

Huddersfield put in a 9/10 performance for themselves against us but we should have won on the balance of chances.

Bournemouth, are obviously low on confidence so we really should beat them despite our own problems. We need to move the game away from the edge of our box as teams will always find a way through if you let them get at you. And Shakeys selections have done exactly that in recent games.

Shakey may have been hampered with his options in the panel of players available, but he's contributed greatly to our poor results by his selections. It's hard enough to get control when you match up with the opposition in midfield but it's nearly impossible when you put 2 in against a 3 and especially against the quality of Liverpool players.

To improve things we need to build from the back and get a bigger hold in midfield. Even if this means sacrificing Mahrez. We're relying on a 20-year-old to win the Ball for us in midfield and then expecting him to create also. Not only is it unfair but it's also denying him the support he so badly needs to help in his development. Maguire is also young and still learning and I hope he got a rollicking for his error on Saturday. But the real error was in Willf trying to find him with the second pass.

We need to get Iborra in there and go for a more solid 442  I'd go with Chilwell, Iborra, NDiddi and Albrighton. with The usual back 4 behind them. with Vardy and Shingi up top.

Then as we seize the initiative we can change things to suit by bringing in Gray to stretch them further.  I'm not so sure Shakey has the vision to see things that so and so I expect little to change and us to huff and puff our way through the game, similar to the Huddersfield match.

Getting at them and trying too win is exactly what we should do but unfortunately when you are a Manager who fears for his job you are happy with just not losing.

We all know what is going to happen, which makes this all the more depressing thinking about it.

Kasper, Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs, Mahrez, Ndidi, King, Albrighton, Okazaki, Vardy.

It will be this.  I know it.  You know it.  CS knows it.  The whole footballing world and his dog knows it.

Now in an alternate reality, the system ought to be a 4231 with the four forward players pushing on.  Have the full backs running forwards and pressing as well.  Pin them in their own half.  Kasper, Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs, Iborra, Ndidi, Mahrez, Gray, Okazaki, Vardy.

But I'll stop speaking sense.  This will not happen.  lol

Yep, totally agree Col but lets face it we know nothing will change.

I'd love us to start with Mahrez and Gray either side to have a go at teams.

We've got to vary the 442 away from home. Play this again at Bournemouth and I'm convinced we'll lose.

I've never been a fan of Shakey as manager and I think, a loss in this upcoming weekend which would mean 4 points from 21 and it'd be time to look for someone else with big Nige as a caretaker pending hopefully a more balanced successor, I quite like to look of the Watford guy and with the benefit of hindsight its a pity we never went for him in the Summer.

I think it'll be a maximum of 1 point from this game.

I'm not convinced that CS has it in him to command the players well enough to change the system so that the team plays any differently as an effective unit.

I have said this all season.  This is where both Nigel Pearson and Shakespeare have gone wrong.  Trying to contain the opposition, playing defensively and cautiously showing too much respect to the opposition gets you nowhere.  Take the shackles off the team, let the opposition worry about us, play attacking football and give the opposition something to think about.  Stop pulling everyone back for a corner too why do we do this?  Would rather get beat knowing my team have given it a bloody good go not surrendering mildly but we only lost by one etc.  A defeat is a defeat,
