I have always believed (without any evidence to be sure) that Shakey wasn't the owners first choice. I think they were rebuffed because higher profile targets looked at the structure of the club and deicide it would work. Nothing has changed in that respect...

Not only is he not in control he's not even kept in the loop, he is by all accounts still the coach but this time he has to pick the team too.

 

I also wish he'd stop being so boring when interviewed! When he's asked a question he goes on a long ramble about how to be a good manager etc when a simple yes or no would suffice. I wouldn't hold your breath on any manager who currently has a club. We couldn't attract players from Watford and Burnley when we were champions and offering Champions League and huge pay rises.

 

No chance we could attract their flipping managers when they are doing miles better than us.

 

For whatever reason, we aren't an attractive prospect at all. Unlike players, managers care about more than just the weekly wage and amount of playing time on offer.

Would be happy with somebody who has a pedigree and actually knows what they are doing.

 

Somebody that can see the midfield needs a over haul, somebody that actually like to pass the ball a bit instead of a Championship hoof match.

 

Somebody that will have to the balls to get rid of Andy King and the likes who are clearly never going to be good enough.

 

Somebody who can actually cement us a spot within the top 8 and actually make us proud.

The owners will persist with Shakey for another 5-6 games until it becomes clear we are well and truly in the relegation mix-up (again). They will then turn to.. Sam Allardyce who will have had enough of retirement and wants to get back in the game.

That's why we need new personnel within the club first and foremost before anything else.

 

The current team who work to bring in new players and staff are quite quite obviously inept, idiots, who couldn't negotiate their way out of a revolving door, alot of irony in that aswell...we keep going round in circles.

This.  I wouldn't mind the current issues so much, if there was a clearer indication that we had long-term ambitions. Like if we were building a world-class academy; that would tell me that we're shaping up to be another 'southampton' if nothing else. Maybe not a top 6, but a clear sense of direction. Currently, it feels like we are just faffing about.

 

At least we still have our world-class groundsmen.

Not in total agreement with that - money is a lot to managers whose career could be a lot shorter than a player and whose salary isn't generally as high, nor contract as long

 

However, getting a prem manger to jump ship to us mid season would be v unlikely indeed

interesting. I was going to suggest him partly based on his time at Halifax ages ago, always liked him. He's got a good mentality about him - not a million miles away from Pearson's better qualities.

What an utter nob, wish he'd never come to this club, wish we were still in League One and never got out of there, maybe even fell further down the league pyramid just for a laugh like.

 

 

If you can't see the good this man did for our football club and would rather focus on the bad then you really are an Ostrich, you don't deserve to support this club in the Premier League and ultimately don't deserve to be supporting a club who has won the Premier League - whilst he had 'nothing' to do with the title win per se, he laid the foundations for it, without him we probably wouldn't be in the Premier League and i'm quite confident in saying we wouldn't have won it.

 

I'm not saying we'd have won it if he was in charge, again i'm confident in making such a statement that we wouldn't have. I'm a big enough man to admit that (It's stating the obvious tbh) but the anti-Pearson brigade give him no credit whatsoever and it amazes me.

He's a good championship manager...that's it.
