Everyone saying that Southampton were boring under CP but they’re still struggling to score goals now. Let’s all get behind him and see where he can take us!

Saints fan here.i think you got a good man he was unfairly sacked in my opinion.we played great in europer league but missed so many goal scorin opportunities.not his fault.same in league form chance after chance.but if u dont score he gets blame.i saw more positives than negatives.he did not get rub of green.plus a very honest man.i hope he does well.he deserves it.

Welcome Claude!

Is it not possible that he’s had a lasting effect? I can’t see WBA being able to score freely after being Pulised.

How people can write him off before we start is baffling , do our fans never learn?!?

Good luck Claude win on Sunday and you will hopefully win some of the doom mongers over

I think it's an alright signing.

May not have had the most amazing Southampton season, (though can't complain at 8th and a cup final( but it's all too easy to judge managers on one poor season. Look at Koeman at Everton. Or Ranieri for us in his last season.

It's not Dyche, or Pardew, or someone like Tim Sherwood, so it's alright in my books.

The hardest worker Glenn Hoddle has ever seen

Beats players in mountain bike races in the alps

Played “tremendous football” in 2015/2016

Doesn’t have a favoured style, sets teams up in the best way that suits the squad

Praise from Thierry Henry

Gets the best out of his players

Strong personality comparable to Roy Keane

Comitted to developing youth

Ticks a lot of boxes for me. If it wasn’t for Southampton fans thinking they had a right to score bucket loads of goals with a squad containing basically no decent forwards this appointment would be met with a lot more positivity I’m sure.

Deep fcuking joy....I find it hard to welcome a French Manager after Agincourt in 1415 and the 100 year war (my hatred of Spurs will last even longer...), but good luck anyway

“So Claude... we want you to talk to a practically naked super model about football.”

”I am a man of standards, I will not do it, non.”

“We’ll throw in a light blue v-neck jumper”

”oui, ok, maybe this once”

Happy with this, hopefully we'll start seeing some more passing play and Appleton continues, he looks like he embraces that style too, let's not hope he is too muted.

Let's hope he continues his track record of blooding youth with talent, recognises we need to strengthen in the middle, and gives everyone a clean slate, picking purely on merit.

Hoping the players embrace him, and there are no big time Charlies in the dressing room.  I'm sure he will play to our strengths and hopefully minimize our weaknesses.  For those worry Vardy may not get catered to, I'm sure that was a part of the interview process, and we all know how big mates Top and Vards are.

Onwards and upwards!

Let's give him a chance.

Obvioisly wasn't the first name to come to mind but seeing what this club can achieve, nothing can surprise us anymore!

Happy that Appleton has been retained as number 2. Bring on Everton! Our season starts now :scarf:
