Collymore Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Anyone else noticed he's constantly bending Appleton's ear on the bench? It looks there's fundamentals he disagrees with in our style of play. Appleton just seems to politely nod while Claude is going into overdrive on how we should be doing things differently. I thought he was going to be a a bit shy on the touchline but he isn't afraid to express his feelings.

Stadt Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 There was one gesture he made earlier trying to explain something and he about punched himself he did it that ferociously
Fox92 Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 He seems reserved. I didn't even see him walk out the tunnel first half and I was close to it.

Nah, I think Appleton is just doing that thing all us Brits do when we can't understand a foreigner
Tuna Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Liked it when he complained to Madley about the injury time at the end of the game '...only 4 minutes?'.

Dr The Singh Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 I hear he walks around with his cock out in the dressing room

Koke Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 I like what Puel is trying to do with this team. First half we had 62% possession. We finished with 54% possession. We created enough chances to win the game. If he organises the defence and signs 2 full backs we will be a proper team. This team is work in progress but I like what I'm seeing.
baldeagle Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 I have noticed he is fairly animated it the technical area and doesn’t just stand there with his arms folded looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights

lgfualol Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Wondering how professional footballers can't find fellow players probably
sm1 Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Certainly had a positive effect on Morgan. He seems more confident ball at feet and has been hoofing it far less.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 I think he is making the incremental changes we need. Too much at once could be destabilising although he's already changing the inflexible mindset we had under Shakey. So Gray in, and I've no doubt Chilwell would have featured today had he been fit. Like the way he is adapting the play and set up, again gradually, although his subs might have been bit better today. Think we will see the defence tweaked more in coming weeks.

ZeGuy Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 He has a precise idea of what he wants from this team, which is a very good sign. He'll take the counter-attacking as one of the (many) options but not the only one. I'll take the draw as it is not wise to expect results at every game whilst the team is slowly adapting to another style of play. I like where he's going but we absolutely need at least a FB in january. Fuchs and Simpson (no matter how good he is at the back) are not enough for what he has planned.

I also like that the players were disappointed with the draw, and we were trying to score on the break and win when the pressure was on rather than just getting it down the other end. He seems to have got the winning mentality back in a very short space of time- there were reports that the players didn't think there was much wrong when Shakespeare got the sack, which concerned me a bit.
hejammy Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 So in this new "keep possession" style of play, which players do you feel will maybe be pushed out? For me, Simpson (as much as I think he is an unsung hero), Fuchs (on his last few performances) and Albrighton (hard worker but has not reproduced any sort of title winning year form for a long time). Vardy is also not a passing style of play, player. Last couple of months he's been pretty average at best (except for those with their blue tinted specs on) we need a striker who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, I know people on here will think I'm crazy saying that about Saint Vardy, but honestly.... He's got the pace, but that's about it at the moment.
SheppyFox Posted 4 November 2017 Posted 4 November 2017 Glad the Puel panic has passed, he was always going to do ok for us
