This might be the game to rest Vardy and go with Slimani. They will go 442 trying to keep us out, which will make it difficult for Vardy. I'm not sure we can afford to rest Ndiddi as who is going to win the Ball in midfield. I'm sorry but King isn't going to do it. I'd go with Amartey, He's similar in style to Ndiddi and has the legs to match Zaha. Alternatively he could play RB and rest Simpson. I'd also rest Albrighton. We need him at his best for the Cup Match.

I'd go with

                 Kasper

Simpson  Morgan  Maguire  Fuchs

         Amartey or Ndiddi   Iborra

Mahrez  Slimani Okazaki Gray

Quite like this; rotivating Amartey to see if he can fill Wilfs boots. Crazy idea actually playing Amartey in his best position, might just work.

Is this turning into the new match thread?

Let me get this right, some are now fearful of a Palace side who haven't scored in a single game away from home all season?

We're on the back of a 4 match winning run scoring 7 in our last 2 away matches including dismantling Southampton 4-1 at their place,no mean feat!

Now the wise Owl Hodgson and his Palace team is striking fear into some on here? Incredulous.

I'm just glad Claude is at the helm and I'm confident in his selection, our boys skill, confidence and momentum.

Its that sort of overconfidence that would lead to Palace scoring their first away goal and winning their first away game.

I'm hoping Claude and the boys aren't as arrogant going into it!

Personally I am looking forward to the return of Schlupp and hope he gets a good reception. I know he's one of these players (like shinji) who's fashionable to slag off but his contribution to Leicester's success in his time here was massive. Played a big part in winning the championship and then also as a wing back in the great escape. Then started 12 games and featured in 25 (would have been more if not for an injury) when we won the premiership.

On top of that he was exciting to watch dead direct and full of pace.

I'm really torn whether we go full strength for this and rotate for the cup, or visa versa. League should always be priority, but to beat a flying city we need to put our best out.

Just but the best team out for both ...    not like the fookers are unfit ! ..  :)

Maybe a chance for Iheanacho on Saturday, rest Vardy so he can batter the City & United defence, Palace are a physical side and it would be just our luck someone gets a bad knock, Puel seems to have changed the way we play giving us loads of options now...

Didn't they win away at Watford midweek?

That was at Selhurst Park.

I wouldn't say many are fearful... just wary of a side who have some good players going foward and will score an away goal sooner rather than later.

If we turn up, we'll beat them. It's not going to be easy though, they're near the top of the form table too.

Please let me know what part of my post was arrogant?

I personally feel we will have too much for them based on form, momentum, personnel and being at home!

Like any football match  it could go any of 3 ways, yes  I am confident we will win and that's my opinion!

I'm sure Claude and the boys, whatever team he puts out, will be ready and thoroughly prepared for the job ahead.

Just the idea that we're in form, at home where we are strong and they're near the bottom so we should walk it. It's not that attitude that's won us all these games since we were back in the PL.

I worry if you go into a game not expecting to have to play well and put in 100% in order to win you will struggle

They're decimated at the back from what I read, so we will score. Question is how will our defense hold it, we still struggle at keeping clean sheets.

We're also shit at set pieces. I hate set pieces. Frigging set pieces.

3-1 home win.

Bit of a selection headache for Puel, how can he drop King and Fuchs after tonight?

King wasn't that good, the game passed him by really & Fuchs couldn't beat the first man with any sort of cross against Southampton. I would welcome Iborra & either Gray or Albrighton back into the starting 11

Imperative to keep this run going and hopefully keep a clean sheet - seeing as they've not scored away from home yet this season.

Hope Claude has one eye on the two Manchesters on Tuesday and Saturday though. I'd rest Wes, Wilf, Iborra, Mahrez and Vardy.

Kasper

Simpson --- Dragovic --- Maguire --- Fuchs

King --- Amartey

Gray --- Shinji --- Chillwell

Iheanacho

Then full strength for the two Manchesters.

100% agree about set pieces. 100% down to goalkeeper not coming out to gather the 'gettable' ones (big lads like Maguire, Ndidi and Ibora can deal with the others).

Also 100% agree with your 3-1 home win! :D

Ideal game to rest Vardy and bring in Slimani or Iheanacho. But neither were even in the squad on wednesday. Does this mean Ulloa is higher up the pecking order than those two? And is he likely to play from the start tomorrow? And does Gray (or Albrighton?) replace Mahrez?

Questions, questions!

It looks like Ward and Schlupp will be there full backs so you'd want Gray up against Ward for his pace and Mahrez to bamboozle Schlupp.  No Sakho either in central defence so you'd want Vardy to utilise his pace. Pace, skill and movement will scare these to death and I expect them to defend quite deep to compensate so Mahrez and Gray should be essential.

Kasper needs to get a grip and at

least begin dominating the 6 yard box ffs.

I believe that’s where the problem starts. If he controlled that area the likes of Morgan and Maguire would have less to contend with and we should be better off.
