Why dont we deserve to be there?  Today we lost to Liverpool while the two teams directly below us lost to Bournemouth and Swansea?

weve had two poor results ourselves in the last few games Watford and Palace but overall we are exactly in the position we deserve to be in.

Repeat; "on current form", no wins 1 draw and 3 losses in 4 and 9 goals conceded.

 

Some folk believe it's inevitable that we should lose away at L'pool, sorry I don't buy that. We should build on the 1-0 early lead if our ambitions are to move higher up the table.

Evidence that the league is woeful. The rest of us seemed to have caught up a bit obviously tippified by our title win. The gap seems to have got wider since that day. Any 3 of the bottom 14 can perform like the worst team in the league on any given day. Very much got like the championship is now with everyone beating everyone.

We're 8th because we've picked up enough points to be 8th. We're exactly where we deserve to be, as is every other team in the table. A league table isn't compiled on current form.

Wouldn't it be great if we could beat teams like Palace and Watford and not rely on other teams such as 'lowly' Swansea who people slag off to beat the teams we are around yet lose to, you know, turn up and actually give them a game.

Lets put it into context, look at where we where after the West Brom game, in the bottom 3 with about 5 or 6 points (Whatever it was) plus the negativity surrounding the SIlva fiasco and Iborra injury and Craig Shakespeare in charge.


If any LCFC fan was told then that we'd end the year with 27 points a decent goal difference compared with the teams around us and in 8th place we'd have been delighted.

I'd have preferred Swansea and Bournemouth to have both lost. Just to keep as much distance as possible until we are well clear of the bottom.

7th place should be our target no disrespect to Burnley but if we don't finish above them then we have f**ked up. European football is a must if we are to keep the likes of Ndidi, Vardy etc.

Can I ask why you're bring Burnley into it? I've asked the question to a few people, I don't get it, we had a petty little rivalry with them a few years ago, then we moved onto Sunderland, then Tottenham are we back round to Burnley or something? :dunno:

 

Take Burnley out of the equation, 7th should be our target I agree with that but what does it matter if we don't finish above them? Fair play to them, people are saying they're getting lucky but I say they're getting the job done, unlike us who don't turn up for alot of games.

Do we have a much better squad though? Just because we have players on the bench worth around  £70m or whatever it is doesn't mean that expenditure equals better players. Musa is a prime example. Burnley have just the right players, cheap or otherwise, to effectively play a winning system. We were the best ever previous example of that in recent times. We have a bigger more expensive squad of ill thought out misfits.

It should be compiled on size of club obviously. And we are massive so don’t deserve to be 8th we should be 2nd only behind West Ham cos they are even more massive than us

Yes I totally agree with those two but don't think our extended squad is for the type of football we are trying to play. Burnley on the other hand have what they need for their system love it or hate it.
