No.

He's 21, has barely had a chance and is desperately short of confidence. I'd back him to come good under the wings of Vardy, Slim and Okazaki.

Yeah. I reckon with those four - and ONLY those four - being interchanged as needed up front, we'll get the best out of them. Cameos by Ulloa (who has done a great job for the club, but should probably move on) or youth team players isn't doing anyone any favours.

There's a picture of him in a bristol City shirt on twitter. Don't know whether it's true or bollox.

Sheppyfox will be on suicide watch if true......

We can't sell him. The bloke needs a run of games before everyone starts to write him off. He is never gonna look any good if he only gets 5 or 10 minutes once a month.

He's been absolute crap so far but we know from what he did at man City that nacho had the capacity to be a brilliant goalscorer. I think perhaps the move was a bit of a shock to the system which, coupled with worsening confidence, has led to the current situation. I wonder if a loan to west ham (an out of form nacho is such a west ham signing) would help him regain the confidence.

IIRC they wanted to sign him when we did

I meant re Shinji. The same poster said we should get rid of Vardy a few weeks ago, clown.

So what we're saying is he's played like 2 matches for us and hasn't exactly hit the ground running, he's a highly rated international striker at 21 years old and because we were playing hoof-ball to Vardy and he was able to pluck balls out of the sky than it means clearly he's not good enough!

Talk about patience and giving players an opportunity! Especially now when we have Adrien Silva in the fold, our team plays it on the ground far more than under Shakey so actually now we may play to Nachos strengths if we gave him a chance.

If Besiktas want a Nigerian striker than sell them Musa!

Exactly. Iheanacho is the type of striker that plays well when we are playing on the front foot and playing with the ball on the ground. Get him the right service in the box and he will deliver. That's how it was for him in City and how it is for him in the Nigerian national team.

He won't be the guy dribbling through tons of players or trying to outpace defenders, He will be getting at the end of a good cross or through ball and convert the chance.

Yeah, I have heard that they only want to sign a Nigerian...

This.

Of all of the players that get slated here, I understand the criticism of Iheanacho the least.

We know he can score goals. He wasn't just scoring easy tap ins at City crested by their stars, he was scoring match winning goals with excellent finishes.

He's got an enormous future but right now he just looks bereft of form, fitness and confidence and is a victim of Vardy's success.

I hope desperately that we're patient with him and that he's patient with us.

I agree with this and I'm hopeful he will come good as I thought he would be a fantastic signing.

We can't really judge him on minutes played but what is really concerning is that he has failed to impress two managers who seem him day in day out and often can't even make the bench.

In fairness to the OP for this thread, you can only judge what you see in front of you at the time.  Vardy did struggle in the Championship at times and no one could have foreseen his brilliant rise, least of all, those of you sniggering at this now.

Largely agree. As you say, he's already shown at Man City that he has the ability. Presumably his lack of impact here is mainly down to loss of confidence.

I really hope that the club is doing some smart work to help him in terms of psychology and confidence. Must be a nightmare for the kid.

The instinct is to think: ship him out on a short-term loan to a decent Championship side so that he can get a goal or two.

But that's a further risk if it doesn't work out well - and you'd have to be sure that his mentality was strong before loaning him, and that he'd have the right support at the loanee club.

I suppose the main hope has got to be working on his psychology and then hoping that he has a good day - even just a good moment - off the bench.

One goal as sub could transform his self-belief and instincts on the pitch, turning him into the player we were hoping for - and back into the player he has already been.

This more just brings to light how hard Vardy has worked to improve himself and his overall game. From a player absolutely struggling  in the Championship, to now be a player teams dictate their defensive set up around containing. In all honesty Nacho probably would benefit from a summer or so of something similar. A Nacho with the work rate of Vardy would be a good addition

To be fair people can only judge what's in front of them. Nobody could foresee Vardy would become a beast.

Having said that, I quite liked this post in that thread

" He is a real tryer and has good potential but sadly we might not have the time to develop him if we're to fight for promotion. Perhaps if we're winning towards the end of a game he would be worth bringing on but I feel that certainly Waghorn and then Futacs should be ahead of him in the pecking order. "

Loads of people saying things like "not given a chance", "low on confidence" and "he'll come good give him for for god sake" . Thing is we don't watch training 5 days a week! He could be sbsolute tosh and/or doesn't want to be here. Just an idea
