@Line-X just to respond to your last reply. My original post was referring to the the little dip you just mentioned when we thought the game was won. I'm pretty sure we're agreeing

delighted with that as that result will give a lot of confidence to many players, Diabate especially.

 

To make your debut, on TV, in a cup notorious for banana skins and upsets, and play with so much freedom and nonchalance, and also to grab a couple of goals is a great showing. Diabate actually reminded me of when Mahrez burst on to the scene with us after we first signed him (also January signing I believe?!).

 

Looks like he's got quick feet, lots of pace and an eye for goal. Everything you'd want in a winger and instead of an apprehensive feeling for when he comes up against better opposition, it's excitement. And no doubt he'll feel a bit more settled, too. 

 

We approached the game with professionalism and ended it the same way. Was important to get off to a good start with a goal and to get 3 within half an hour was excellent. Start of the 2nd half was disappointing but we saw the game out well. Puel's subs were important and it was good game management from him. 

 

Puel's selection also vindicates the idiots in the media criticising him before the match kicked off. Very happy for the boss as well as the players. 

 

(P.S, the only downside was the performance of Barnes and Gray but it's minor compared to the bigger picture - of which the main aim was to get through to the next round).

Great performance overall. Particularly Diabate and Iheanacho. Nice to be in the draw for the next round

Fair comment, although Posh capitalised on this lapse I felt that they came at us admirably and irrespective of our dip in concentration and tempo clearly came out and pushed high. They couldn't sustain it though when City upped their game again. 

 

On a different note, so frustrating I have to double the volume on the telly every time Puel is interviewed.

Great win, could have had double figures if they weren’t a bit greedy at times. Diabate was superb, quieter for the first part of the second half but always made something happen when he got it.

Great perfomance. Don't understand why according to merse it's a disgrace for us to not play vardy but acceptable that kane doesn't play for spurs. Merse talks aload of shit.

Sweet, sweet football in the first half, but foot off gas for first half hour of the second.

 

Thought Silva looked brilliant for half an hour, then he started making mistakes and didn’t really recover. I’m sure he’ll come good though. Very impressed with Diabate. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him giving DG a bit of competition for a first team spot. Nacho starting to look good too. Barnes much improved on his Fleetwood showing.

 

All in all, good to see the depth that we now have in the squad. No need to sign anyone, just keep what we have.

Almost as impressive was how the team gelled, that was a mishmash of first teamers, one or two coming back from injury, new player in Diabate and fringe players and it just worked brilliantly. Shame we conceded but overall a great performance

Ndidi coming on wrested back control of midfield at a stroke. Great substitution.

Puel obviously learnt from that first Fleetwood game, he put out a string side and thought it was weird some pundits were putting us in a bad light because of it. Well 5-1 you cvnts

lets not go overboard. Diabate was good considering it was his debut - he went fairly quiet when we were struggling for 15 minutes second half. 

 

the pundits are morons. Who was playing outfield that wouldn’t be a starter in the prem? Benny, Diabate and nacho. That’s all.

People are concerned with his vision on the ball, he doesn’t seem to use it well despite being able to get himself into some good positions in and around the box. Will he learn? if he does he will be class for sure

enjoyed that but some of his passing and shots was a bit lacklustre. Wasn't the worst game but expected more when others were performing better.

I’d agree with you. What I’d say about him is that if could do it for a full 90 consistently he’d literally be in the Kroos / Modric category. I think why we’ve managed to get him is that he is good but not right at the very top. 

 

But it still a very good player who has impressed me thus far.

Very tasty at times .One thing for sure Barnes isn't gging to make it at this level so get hin away .Reminds me of Lawrence lightweight and not really at it mentally.

Diabate has to be the best debut from a new signing that I have ever seen. So excited about this guy. It was Mahrez with a bit more pace and power in the tackle. Would like to see him start against Everton or at least come from the bench. Beautiful footballer.
