davieG Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 This weekend, Portuguese newspaper A Bola had some big claims on the Premier League chase for Porto fullback Ricardo Pereira. A story from the newspaper claimed the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham were both interested in the 24-year-old. The clubs were even joined by Everton, who were mentioned by the local press as possible competitors as well. Interestingly, Leicester City didn’t get a mention in these stories. The Foxes’ wish to have the player had already been reported by the Portuguese media, and was even confirmed by Sport Witness sources, but went silent in the past few days. But good things come to those who wait, and A Bola now brings some pretty exciting news for Leicester City fans in their Monday issue. The newspaper claims that despite the stories from the weekend, they’ve now learned the Foxes have made Pereira an offer, and are pretty close to bringing him to England. Leicester City have reportedly ‘anticipated’ the competition and offered Pereira a long contract, with a ‘luxury salary’, making it easy for the player to say yes to it. It’s manager Claude Puel who’s said to be having a big influence on the negotiations, since he’s previously worked with Pereira, and succeeded with him at French side Nice. The words used by A Bola to describe how things stand are ‘extremely high probability margin’, and ‘pratically done’, so you can get the idea of how confident they are that the deal is close. But even though there’s all this excitement regarding the player’s personal terms, A Bola doesn’t seem to have much information on how much will Leicester be paying Porto for him. They claim that his release clause isn’t €25m anymore, since that amount was only valid last summer. This year, it’s been raised to €35m. Pereira’s contract is expiring next year, and since he’s been saying no to Porto’s several attempts to renew it, the club will have to accept an offer and sell him this summer. Now the Foxes are probably working on a deal to make Porto happy as well.

MC Prussian Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 (edited) Imagine bidding £31m for Ricardo, then getting Edited 23 April 2018 by MC Prussian
Leicester_Loyal Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 Would be a class signing. Add a good RB into our squad and it's already looking much better. I'm praying this is true.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 Great news if true, seems exactly what we're after in the RB position.
Stevosevic Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 Could be a few teams in for Simpson with this signing. I can't imagine he would be happy to stick around being second choice.
RumbleFox Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 I'm confused. I am ready to spit froth filled bile at Puel , the club, anyone but this thread is seriously making it hard. I got so much hate, fvck this thread and its positivity. X 1
Heymister2015 Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 Massive signing if true! and more importantly an ex player of puel signing for him. Cant be that bad to play for
GeorgeTheFox Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 not believing this for a second.. seems too good to be true. I'll believe it when i see him in morrisons 1
jonny_wright Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 sounds promising, but our track record of signing good, quality players from the Portuguese league for big money isnt too good! lets hope this one peforms
Beechey Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 (edited) Can tackle, dribble, cross, pass and shoot. Oh, and can also use both feet. Edited 23 April 2018 by Beechey
rachhere Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 Just been looking at his highlights reel - this better be true! 1
FrankieADZ Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 would be a very good signing on the whole for us I think, certainly couldnt see him going to any of the teams hes being linked with except for us, given all them he was linked with have decent RB's atm......and we sort of dont
st albans fox Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 News like this will only serve to kick some of the other suitors up the arse. If we are willing to pay him more than the others then we could well get him. The other clubs already have decent right backs - not sure what juventus’ position is
Heymister2015 Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 Let’s get Ben Arfa tied up quickly too. Quality high profile names will spur the team on for next season
davieG Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 ...and with a player with that pace and skill that's how, hopefully we'll be able to turn our improved possession and passing into faster movement up the pitch. 1
ge12 Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 Looks class going forwards in those videos, can he defend as well?
the fox Posted 23 April 2018 Posted 23 April 2018 (edited) The club and management are doing a number on my health. Try to pass the ball around while benching a great passing CB in favor of Wes. Loaning out your two aerial threat strikers just to start crossing the ball to no one in the box. Failing to get a proper attacking RB for 2 years and just now getting one when Mahrez has 1 foot out. Absolutely shambolic. but hey, better late than never. Edited 23 April 2018 by the fox
