Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez

In the unlikely event that they're still together (Mahrez likely to leave) to continue their glorious partnership with us next season, may I just say it's been an absolute pleasure watching them over play together. 

 

At times, they've mesmerised us. They've ridiculed opposition teams with some sensational pieces of skill and teamwork and ability. 

 

They've entertained us and turned on the style when it's required. Despite only supporting us since about 6/7 years old, I never thought I'd see someone with skills like Mahrez has play for us and be such a crowd-pleaser with many moments of magic.

 

And Vardy is surely going down as one of Leicester's greatest ever strikers. 20 goals this season in a side that hasn't always turned up is nothing short of special and typifies his quality. 

 

On behalf of all Leicester fans, to Vardy and Mahrez - thank you. Goals against West Brom this season and Liverpool in 15/16 stand out of course but for all the other times you've combined to put joy on all our faces, thank you.

It's got to be one of the most unlikely combinations of all time! The diminutive French Algerian and a mouthy Sheffield Chav teaming up together to terrorise defences across the Premier League. Both truly fantastic players and when we had a third world class player in Kante... well perhaps winning the league does seem quite believable after all.

 

Mahrez must be off, but think Vardy will stick around. Optimistically I think that Nacho, Silva and Diabate have added an alternative attacking dimension to our game, but there is literally no way we can replace the VAHREZ combination. It's amazing to think that despite being totally different personalities, in terms of a footballing brain that both can be so in sync with one another.

 

It makes me tear up inside just thinking about this being the last time the dynamic duo will be on the same side

My favourite combination has to be against Man United this season. Both from the view of the TV cameras and mine in the stand it was a beautiful pause from Mahrez but we all knew exactly who he was waiting for and so did the defenders but they still couldn’t stop them. Literally telepathic.

 

I also loved it in the championship after Mahrez first arrived and nobody had a clue who he was. There must have been about 2 or 3 defence splitting passes a match to meet a Vardy run

Add to that their assists and it's pretty much a nightmare! We have been too lucky to have those 2 great players carrying the offense. Mahrez leaves and a Vardy injury and the team is pretty much toothless

Vardy is the best by far, and would be if he had played for 90% of any other team in the league

I’m sure we can buy someone pretty tasty with the money we’ll get for Mahrez, but obviously unlikely to replace his “qualitee” and “intensitee”.

No need to replace Mahrez when we've got Diabate. We need atleast one new CB, 1 RB and maybe a GK. Some young blood in the wings could be useful, but I wouldn't worry too much with Diabete and Gray still here.
