Well it obviously didn't because so many disagree with it and I'm sure it would have been the same had he not given it. VAR doesn't resolve these types of incidents

Nah we were alright. If you really think back to 02/04 tournaments we were knocked put by a Brazil team that was utterly ridiculous and won the tournament. Then in 04 we were knocked out by Portugal after all Campbell had a goal disallowed that should never have been disallowed (ref apologised after) and you have to think we were well in for winning that.
