We are about £15m in credit from transfers this window, plus £40m for Musa, guessing £10m for Slim, £5m for Mendy, and £5m for James, King, Amartey together, totals £75m ish, to offset against initial purchase. Don't think we'll be making any big signings and the owners are shrewed. Guess the reason they stick with Puel is his reputation at bringing through youth players, which raises their value, which is sound financially provided we can stay in the Prem. Just because they have loads of money doesn't mean they are going to spend it; maybe they have learnt from past transfer window mistakes? I think this is the direction we're going. With the new training ground development and the possibility of expanding the stadium, I think the owners want to make sure we're splash with cash in case anything goes haywire.

Conveniently forgetting the fortune we paid for Slimani, Musa, Mendy etc.
MPH Posted 17 July 2018 Posted 17 July 2018 I wonder if there is any relation between the Man City owners and this Saudi club? haha! Some were surprised at how low the fee was for Mahrez... maybe that was to meet FFP and maybe they are redirecting us more funds from elsewhere! There’s no way Musa is worth 40 million! Lol where is the conspiracy theory thread! Lol

I Was actually joking BUT I’m aware they are different countries. Just like the investment company involved in the purchase of Leicester City has different people from different countries in Asia, ITS POSSIBLE that the same can be said for investment companies in the Middle East..
Finnegan Posted 17 July 2018 Posted 17 July 2018 I love how everyone conveniently overlooked @Cardiff_Fox very sensible post that 40m in Saudi money, which would be a very easy Chinese whisper to get wrong, is about 8m GBP which would be about right for a club of their standing buying one of our rejects. Let's be honest, he's worth a few million tops only really boosted by a half decent world cup.
ARM1968 Posted 17 July 2018 Posted 17 July 2018 TV money, tickets sales, merchandising, sponsorships etc. You’re looking close to £200 million a year.

Tax , General running costs, Wages and bonuses, agent fees and transfer fees and most of that is gone. Why do people here think every penny that comes in is profit?

Gerard Posted 17 July 2018 Author Posted 17 July 2018 Well that's a blatant lie, no way are we holding out for £40m.
Forward thinking Posted 17 July 2018 Posted 17 July 2018 Has to be 40 million Saudi....that can't be British pounds

Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 17 July 2018 Posted 17 July 2018 We'd take anything north of 8 in a flash I'd say. 40 would be lottery win
