Ever thought ffp and wages is holding us back. We may neep to sell befor we can buy. Or loan out players to clear the wage bill.

It does concern me just a little that, maddisson aside, king appears to be our best midfielder.

How is it not a fitness drill when probably 1 of the starting 11 will start our first game and three players went off after 30 minutes?  Today has been very poor but I am not worried in the slightest?

Many other PL teams are facing the same dilemma with regards to their pre-season and the preparation for the new PL campaign.

 

For all we know, there may be wage issues for us not pursuing more signings at this point in time. Maybe, just maybe, we need to get a few players off the wage bill first...

 

Not sure why the wages would be an issue. We've just sold our second highest earner and got 60m quid for him.

I'll panic if we haven't shown more activity on the transfer market by the end of his summer transfer window and/or get hammered 5-0 by Manchester United on the opening day.

We've not lined up with this personnel before, so I don't see why you're expecting us to suddenly play like Barcelona (sorry for putting words in your mouth).

Udinese are no mugs and are one match ahead in their pre-season.

I'm not particularly entertained by this match myself, but I'm not reading too much into it, either.

Udinese are a team I’d expect us to finish above in a league. That’s if I’m allowed expectations? 

 

These players have played this system and practice it every day in training so personally I think that’s a load of “bull crap”. They should be able to play in it by now. After all, they are professional footballers.

I'd consider these pre-season matches as opportunities for fringe players to get to fitness - and then to be sold or sent out on loan.

This squad needs trimming down.
