Puel will be here for like 4 games.

Then he'll be fired. Allardyce in.

I don't think Musa has been given enough opportunities and the way we have managed him, when i saw him play he looked devoid of confidence. Tbh i think if you give Gray and Musa equal opportunity, I'd have more faith in Musa than Gray. I hope they both do well this season and prove myself and others wrong.

No, it doesn't.

Three goals and three assists as a bit-part player.

Four goals in five FA Cup matches.

Nine goals and four assists in total in all competitions (30 matches).

Performances towards the latter stages of last season indicate we've got a tidy player on our hands, one that is finally worth the money we splashed.

Iheanacho scored 3 goals last season and he's probably the second most likely to top score for us next season. Alarm bells if we dont sign someone who we can rely on to score or assist.

Games against Fleetwood or Peterborough hardly count.

If they are I'll give them a chance but I can't help thinking that's so depressing.

Neither have really shown much to think they could be consistent performers in what I hope to be a decent Premier League team.

Mahrez out, Musa in. FFS

I never mentioned musa for Mahrez but also don’t think his confidence was ever helped by constantly being dropped and being slagged off by fans. He is very much a confidence player. I think if his manager believes in him ie Nigerian boss then he will play better. But I’m nit saying he’s a first choice what I believe is he could play significant part next season.

Regarding Mendy has he ever been given a chance? He was injured against arsenal and we have hardly seen him since. Let’s see what Puel can do with him

Couldnt agree more. Give him a good run in the team and have some faith and I’m certain he’ll plug some of the gap Mahrez has left.

Excuse me, you were the one starting it with the "what if Vardy gets injured" scenario. That has to happen yet! Vardy is still our No. 1 striker, and when it comes to the amount of goals scored, it's not all down to the strikers to fulfill their job, we've also got wingers and central midfielders that need to contribute more assists - and goals.

Just because Iheanacho's only scored three PL goals as a bit-part player last season doesn't mean he can't add ten or more this coming season.

Lad's only 21 still...

So FA Cup goals hardly count - even though they were vital in securing the progress to the next round? Okay, if you say so.

The state of this thread after losing a preseason game to a Serie A team when it’s the first game back for half our squad

Just wait for the season to begin.

I think he'd get more than 10 if played as a number 9- Vardy was the main man for the entire season and will be this time around too, unless he gets injured.

I'd like to think that any number 9 we had would get more than 10.

surely you're not that daft to think that could possibly happen with him as manager with this squad?

Just as mad as them saying we will go down. He's building his squad and many key players are missing. Seems ok for people to judge him on a half baked squad. But not for people to give him  the benefit of doubt.

ill start to judge him with a full squad in games that count. If that make me an idiot by your standards that's fine. But if it goes wrong im big enough to say I was wrong. That's my point.

But hey let's take the MM route to div one. Just keep sacking managers. Sounds like fun to me.

What was the score, please?

You come across as dim as your profile picture suggests at times.

I'm very sorry about that..

It was a genuine question - having not monitored the game whilst it was being played and using this forum for updates.

Perhaps you should lighten up a bit? Christ.

I agree with a lot of people on here, too much negativity.

Players need match time and fitness.

I'm confident we have a very good squad and manager .

Agree i was very impressed with Mendy and would like to see Musa played down the middle. Lots of second half positives, Ricardo, Nacho. My worry is that we have to many average players on the books. Starting 11 for the final friendly would be.

Kasper

Morgan

Maguire

Evans

Ricardo RM

Mendy HM

Nididi  CM

Iborra CM

Chilwell LM

Maddison

Musa

Morgan......

Not reading too much into it, too many changes and just giving game time to player's who are going to be nowhere near the starting eleven.

We have a good solid squad, unfortunately we've sold the one player who could bring that little extra bit of magic and creativity. At time's it showed.

We still need to make a marquee signing to replace Mahrez IMO. I can't guarantee that Musa, Diabatte or Gray will step up.

I think this is my frustration aswell. Seeing Ulloa, King getting serious preseason minutes (more than most it appears to me) when clearly they are in the twilight of their time here and will surely be bit part players or loanees..and as good as they've been they are not at the level required to challenge top 6.

I do however like how Puel has given some quality time to the U23s development players to allow a good look. Some clearly rusty but have a future.

it's a friendly game the score dosent matter and it's better lose than win as the bad result push towards strengthening the squad

The amount of negativity and fear-mongering among some in this thread after a pre-season game with plenty of changes in up to 34 degrees centigrade heat and after an intense training week is staggering.

Well I’m staying mildly positive. We’re gonna win the league.
