This is clearly a player to add some depth to the squad. Clearly Puel sees Chillwell/ Gray and Perrera/ Albrighton as our wingers.

Monaco don't think he's good enough. That's a club that's used to wingers like Kylian Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, Thomas Lemar, Yannick Carrasco, Rony Lopes, Balde Diao etc.

 

Rachid isn't going to come here and score 20 goals and get 15 assists. He'll chip in with the odd goal and assist, he'll produce the odd moment of brilliance, he'll **** up on occasions but he's costing us £5m. That's nothing. He'll be a squad player that will probably start a few, be on the bench for a few and be in the reserves for a few.

 

All we can do as supporters is give him time to settle, appreciate that we're in a transition phase of moving to a more stylish brand of footie and get behind him as much as we did with Riyad.

 

Food for thought is that we were saying similar things with Kramaric and he's gone on to perform really well in a different league.

The Keeper is strange one why we have paid out millions for a second fiddle keeper is beyond me, at least with this we have probably paid 10m pounds at most and will add something to the current crop of wingers but the keeper, a blind man must have signed over that one.

It's pretty hard to tell. I'm sure I saw some clips on here somewhere where he looked like he had the beating of a player in quite a few games. I guess the nature of those 2 recent clip compilations on here is worrisome. He looked like Musa-lite in them. And, very lightweight in the French 1st division too.
