Sorry but that's nonsense. When Derby got promoted in 2007-8 the media weren't interested in them in the slightest, their only interest was in them getting a record low points haul. Ipswich and Coventry would equally be of very little interest. Portsmouth may get a bit as its a chance for them to roll out Ol' Harry again, but other than that there'd be no more interest in any of those teams than there is in Leicester. Really good point. To be perfectly honest I'm not sure I'm arsed about being a 'big club'. Being a big club means more cling on fans who know nothing of the history of the club demanding signings on twitter, more pundits spouting shit about us and some big name players acting like bellends. That added to the fact we're currently devoid of one of those YouTube idiots who films himself watching the game is an overwhelming positive thing - bar that idiot truefox but I'm not sure anyone pays attention to him. The truth is we're onto an incredibly good thing - an ambitious owner, a manager who matches those ambitions and a squad who are generally young and hungry or players that are excellent pros. My biggest concern is Rodgers jumping ship and players like ndidi get their heads turned. We're onto a good thing here and long may it continue. People like Henry winter give us enormous amounts of credit and I think those that generally understand the game know what a serious side we are. I quite enjoy not being part of the big 6 but disrupting that.

I'll try again: not making any comparisons with which clubs get more coverage. My response is in relation to the post about NottsF getting the Leeds treatment and subsequently which others might get similar due to past history. Koke Posted 4 January 2021 Share Posted 4 January 2021 We are bigger than Derby so there's no way there would be any special interest shown towards them of they ever hot promoted. Forest domt have the fan base Leeds have so other than the initial interest which would soon die off, they'd be treated like us and Wolves. davieG Posted 4 January 2021 Share Posted 4 January 2021 The thing with Forest is that Nottingham for whatever reason is considered bigger and more interesting (Robin Hood) by the media and the Government. So they naturally or unnaturally attract more interest, government funding and preferential consideration. The Football Club therefore picks up some of that interest/bias.

coolhandfox Posted 4 January 2021 Share Posted 4 January 2021 Lads I don't think we have much to worry about on Derby or Forest getting promotion anytime soon. Unless it's from League 1 back to the championship next season.

I get what you're saying Geoff, but the issue isn't them not talking about us, it's the fact that when they do the conversation invariably goes in one direction. It should be possible for them to talk about us without it having to be a conversation about which clubs should be buying who. I know it's not always the case but you've got to admit there's a lot of pundits out there that will only talk about us in that context.
Criggers Posted 5 January 2021 Share Posted 5 January 2021 I actually sat the match of the day highlights yesterday and was amazing that Maddison and Tielemens were highlighted and they were given heels of praise and I don’t think I remember any other club being mentioned. Not even by Danny Murphy
