Exactly this. There's an awful lot of unnecessary willy waving going on in this thread. "I NEVER LEAVE EARLY" "LAST ONE OUT THE STADIUM ME" Just smacks of that superiority you get from fans who think they're better because they attend more games.

 

It's never, ever going to stop, and it's quite bizarre people think it should like being a fan and attending is some kind of job. People leave early, some for inexplicable reasons (to me), but they do and they always will.

 

Just like the myth that Filbert Street was 90 minutes of cacophonous noise, people seem to be under some kind of impression that fans leaving early is a new phenomenon, when in fact it's been happening for decades. Look at the footage from previous years. Games winding down and what do you know, people have left early.

No-one's denying that I don't think? Personally, I just can't recall a time where it's ever been so prevalent - especially in situations where the match is often in the balance and we're pushing for winners/equalisers late on. That is weird.

I just think that's people and life in general these days.

 

people have the attention span of a fish.

 

can't focus on anything for more than 5 minutes without looking at a phone.

 

can't go without beer for 90 minutes hence leaving on 35 minutes to beat the queue at the kiosk.

 

can't stand under a massive banner for 2 minutes without worrying the world might be ending on the other side so they rip a hole in it. 

 

but hey, what people do is up to them. as long as they're not getting in my way I'm not gonna stress about it, what's the point?

It might be trivial, but every single home game we hear "is this a library" and "your support is ****ing shit" and they're right. The loudest chant all game was the one aimed at the ref. We might as well just sing that all game because there's only about 100 people singing in a crowd of 32,000.

 

I'm not being an elitist fan, but our support is absolute crap. So what if we sell out? we've got 29,000 seated mutes and the away support is dross too.

Been crap for a while, I’m a big believer in what happens on the pitch affects the atmosphere, and visa versa, a negative crowd affects the players.

 The football on the pitch has become slow, and mundane, and safe, which has bored the terraces, we are a team and style in transition, the fans just need to adapt and forget the fast counter attacking football, and just create some noise.

Not everyone lives within a 20 mile or so radius of the ground. I have not left early, but have thought about it a couple of times when facing a 300 mile journey home and up early for work the following day. Getting ahead of the main crowd and beating the traffic is appealing when you have a long trek home.

The fans pay their money and have the right to leave early if they want without an acne ridden yob chanting 'plastic, plastic' at them as i have seen. 

We dont know their personal reason for going early, it may be that they are on a promise if City win, it could be they are disabled or have a phobia of being crushed.

I was at the Copenhagen home game after major surgery with a friggin catheter strapped to my leg, so would have had a valid reason for leaving early, I chose to wait for the crowd to go before leaving.

At the end of the day, we are all Leicester Cty fans. Lets all respect each other and support the team rather than hurling abuse at someone if they want to leave early.

Majority aren't slagging off those who leave early, more those who linger on the stairways or in front of you when leaving. Its those that then affect other peoples viewing that gets annoying.

 

People who do leave have their reasons, just as many disagree doesn't make their reasons wrong. I think people just don't see the sense for some to then sit in a car park for 15 rather than watch the game. But like I said, people have their reasons, as long as it doesn't impact me i dont mins.

I feel ashamed of Leicester City fans when I hear how crap the atmosphere is and how little they sing these days. 

 

When we won the league everybody said how intimidating the crowd was, how fantastic the atmosphere was. What's happened? Plastics?

 

It seems there badly needs to be a dedicated area where people can stand up and sing their bollocks off. It didn't matter to us if it was carlisle in the rain or Manure in the sun back in the day. We sang to support and to enjoy our money's worth.

 

To be outsang by away supporters is cringeworthy.

 

The 12th man is for real and it can lift or kill teams. Our lot no longer seem to care.

The prime example being Man City in the Carabao Cup last season when hundreds were trying to get back to their seats, and pissing everyone else off who was trying to watch our last minute penalty.

I find it odd that some people miss 25 minutes of the game. In late, up before half time and leave early. But they can do whatever they want if it’s not annoying anyone else.

But that night was just very, very weird. It’s not at all for me about being a superior fan because I stay until the end, I just personally can’t understand why, and I guess I don’t need to. 

People are different, sometimes very different and I’ve spent a lifetime trying not to work them out, as they probably do with me, especially my therapist.

I guess we've been spoilt with 4 bizarre seasons in a row which brought about crazy emotional rollercoasters. Unfortunately that was followed by mediocrity last season and what looks like mediocrity this season which is having a knock on effect in the stands. Crazy as its something we craved in the championship days but premier league stability almost comes across as boring to many of our fans.

It doesn't bother me personally at all, though I've only ever done it once (a 4-4 draw with Watford when we scored a late equalizer), which I regretted. I live away now, however, and depend on nice people letting me use their season ticket when I'm home (and streams) to see them, so it'd be wrong to criticise those who go every week.

 

That said, I don't smoke but people smoking at games never bothered me either, though I understand it's rude (and illegal) now. I suppose that's how things become 'rude' over time - that people become offended by them, rightly or wrongly, and people modify their behaviour to avoid causing offence. Yes, I know one thing kills people and another doesn't, but it's also why I'm always told to take my elbows off the table and put the toilet seat down.

 

The more worrying thing is that managers and players seem to be affected by it. Even if they're also being daft in allowing such things to get to them, we're probably not being the best of fans if we do something which has a negative impact. Regardless of whether it offends me or not.

 it is pretty crap - what I don't get is why they don't pour a load of pints ready for the onslaught! I've only been down once this season so far and didn't go down at half time so not sure if its any better this year.

I think it should be like tennis rules for those going in and coming out of the game.

 

 

Fans should allowed into the seats when theres a pause in play - such as a goal kick, a booking, free kick, corner etc. I hate people coming in late or leaving early obstructing the views of everyone else. 

 

 

I generally find it baffling the amount of people who pay top prices for around an hours worth of the actual game.

I can appreciate what you’re saying and it’s a great effort from you. For me, if I had a 300 mile journey home there’s no way I’d be leaving early, 30 minutes later won’t make that much difference to me. But everyone is different.

I do wonder why people who leave early and really have no decent reason to follow football at all but then it's up to them what they do as others have said who cares really it's their life. It happens at every ground.

 

It's also been mentioned the transport system in this country is wank late at night so mid weekers it's more than understandable, I might leave early tonight purely for transportation reasons as it would make someone who is doing me a big favor less inconvenienced for example.
