dnewty Posted 25 August 2018 Posted 25 August 2018 Now that is a set of players that desperately need motivation.
evil jack Posted 25 August 2018 Posted 25 August 2018 Could be a late night, waiting for us on MOTD...

He was even getting into positions, but Gray just won't pass, while I don't know what happened to Maddison. There were two openings that Iheanacho moved in brilliantly and just didn't get the pass.

Then again, it's not like we're really providing the attacking players with any sort of platform to look good. He is failing with the simple stuff, so are the team to be fair.....this is a Puel performance from last season 1
The Guvnor Posted 25 August 2018 Posted 25 August 2018 Albrighton on straight away, then bring Shinji on and we will win. 2
kingfox Posted 25 August 2018 Posted 25 August 2018 Absolutely nothing going forward, I'd take Gray off for Shinji, put Maddison out wide and play Shinji behind Nacho. As for Amartey he is the one that needs loaning out not Simmo.

He looks like a player who doesn't have confidence in himself to do or try something, just looks to passing it to the nearest blue shirt quickly. 1
StriderHiryu Posted 25 August 2018 Posted 25 August 2018 A very mediocre half from both teams. Redmond is the fulcrum of the match, he's taking the piss out of Amartey every time he gets on the ball and you'd have to say that you don't think Simpson would have the same problem. Maybe put Albrighton on and have Ricardo on him instead because otherwise it's a matter of time before they score. Up front we've had some "nearly" moments, but the front three don't seem to be clicking today. Madders has been indifferent today compared to his previous two games. Defensively I think we look alright. Maguire bossing it, Kasper composed and Ndidi and Mendy though not great on the ball have won their fare share in the midfield battle. But both teams need to improve if either one wants to win it. Indifferent display from us so far.

Well we did sign a right back that was probably the best right back in Ligue 1 the other season. For me it is why we didn't sign a top class winger. Now we are stuck with Amartey because Pereira is our best winger somehow.
Bert Posted 25 August 2018 Posted 25 August 2018 Look shaky at the back. Especially down our right side. Amartey keeps putting us in trouble. No attacking impetus. They’re on us like flies on shit when we have the ball. We are too nice which makes us easy to play against, especially away from home.

Jaspa Posted 25 August 2018 Posted 25 August 2018 Lemina is really dominating midfield. Both teams look tidy; them in posssession at half way and us with some really crisp tackles, Ndidi & Mendy screening really well. We're playing counter and absorbing pressure Gonna take one moment where someone takes a chance to win it, not looking like the 2-2 I callled in the week at all.
eaststand68 Posted 25 August 2018 Posted 25 August 2018 Grey is his usual self, but he is young and learning so thats ok!!!!! 1

Baffles me a bit though when people on here compare him to Gazza and Beckham.

They have clearly pin pointed that side has a weakness and rightly so with a rb playing on the wing and god knows what at the right side of defence
