Doubt we'd be interested in him either. He will be 28 this December and we have two youngsters in Maddison & Barnes who have way more potential than Ramsey.

Supposedly he wants Ozil money?  Being as much of a contributor.  But that will price him out of any (much less our) market.

 

If Ozil's value for money is going to be Arsenal's new measuring stick, they will never re-sign another player .   :thumbup:

thats a 62.5m investment 

 

if you had had to pay a fee for him then I think 45/50m would be about right

 

so he is only asking for a weekly wage of 50/70k if you get him for nothing ...... I think he is underselling himself or he will want a nice s/o fee in addition to the 250k.......

 

clubs like us cant afford to take on players who cost 60m over five years. I reckon we top out around 45/50m (fee + wages).

Ramsey is good enough to not just play for a Champions League team, but actual contenders, such as Juve who have been linked. He's at peak age, is earning £110k p/w already and has his eyes on at least doubling that. There will be no shortage of takers, he's a really good player.

What about going abroad? Plenty of clubs in Europe would love to have a player like him. Even if it wasn't Juve there are much better teams than us that could get him. Plus he's probably on huge wages which we wouldn't pay him (We could, but I doubt we would).


I think it's delusional to think he would entertain the thought of a move to us.

Delusional is a bit ott. As much as you’re right it’s unlikely to happen, if we want to be playing in Europe and challenging again why shouldn’t we try going for him?

That's not how transfer fees work - the package he's asking for is his wages, you'd pay the fee to Arsenal (if it weren't an out of contract deal) separately.
