Puel Versus Vardy who will win?

Recommended Posts

Vardy wants the early ball in, counter attacking football.

Puel wants him to hold the ball up bring other players into the game with possesion based football.

For me, hopefully Vardy I am a consistent Puel outer his football philosophy is dire, and you will never win anything with a “just” youth policy.

This is such a stupid post. Neither person wins in these situations, and more importantly, the club loses due to it.

As so many people have pointed out, we had to evolve when Kante left, we couldn't continue as a solely counter attacking team. Teams knew what we were about and woukd set up to nullify Vardy et al.

Puel plays possession based, but you just have to bloody watch him to know he hates the side to side cr4p we play at times. He's adapted our team to be able to hold onto the ball. Look at the goal on Saturday, we get the ball, and break via our attacking RB (a puel thing).

To slate his youth policy is also quite delirious. Yes, at times we are inconsistent due to it, but simply look at how Chilwell has progressed, and Ricardo to an extent. He's mixed youth with age, (Kasper, Vardy, Albrighton, Morgan all 29+, Mendy is 26). Frankly I think our team is looking optimistic in terms of personnel, with a few tweaks needed tactically.

No one is saying his style is brilliant, as it isn't at all. But to ignore some of the things he's improved or implemented that have worked is pathetic.

Then we'll get a new manager who plays football.

I think the key thing is his reaction to the side-to-side and ‘going backwards’ play, he doesn’t like it either. This says to me that when he’s got the players he wants in place, or he coaches the existing players into the way style he wants, then we will become the team in his style, and personally I’m keen to see this evolution.

We've seen it in segments, and its looked bloody good when it's worked.

Imagine slating a "just youth" policy that has seen three players who are "just youth" make the England squad in recent months - one of whom is now pushing to be a regular starter for his country. If you can't take pride in watching young players, many of whom have come up through our own academy, succeed and play regularly at the highest level for us, then do you even support Leicester?

Well, Alex Ferguson did all right with the class of 92. 5 youth players who became the mainstay of a team that has won more prem titles than most people have had hot dinners

Am I missing something here? Was it not just, not for the first time, tabloid gossip?

The tabloids have never really liked Vardy all that much, they've always liked to push this idea that he's a snake and a chav and his wife's a pampered wag.

Did he not say "the style of football doesn't suit me but I'm working on trying to adapt" and the press just upped and ran with the first part?

Fair play if I've missed something like.

Hahaha what a joke title. They hugged each other after the Chelsea game mate. Puel will continue to look for ways to play to Vardy's strengths in his own system, and Vardy will continue to put in all his effort.

Based on absolutely nothing other than instinct and guesswork, pictures like this sum the whole thing up. I think the players are torn on him and can't quite work out their feelings.

He's stubborn. His fitness training doesn't Max out our potential. He's uncommunicative. All reasons to start to turn against him.

Yet they know tactically he's up to date. We control games in phases / have gears / change tempo like we rarely ever have done. And his individual coaching appears spot on.

The whole thing is a bit like a bird you want to leave. Noticing her bad habits all the time. Then, she dishes out a fabulous BJ and has booked a surprise lovely weekend away and you think....ahh, maybe it's not so bad!
