Has anyone monitored his actual form and play this season in terms of watching much of Monaco?

I worry that a lot the hype could be FIFA enhanced. I was excited when we signed Sliman and Silva, such experiences have slightly dampened my transfer fire. Hopefully this one if goes through will work out better, fingers crossed!

I follow a few English language french sports reporters on twitter and his name and their central midfield is usually been mentioned along with the word "disaster".

Feel like he wouldn’t want to go back to Monaco in the summer anyway, they are 4 points from safety so relegation is a very real threat to them, even if they do manage to stay up, I cant see him wanting to stay at Monaco for another possible season of struggle.

Issue with the loan will be if he plays well here for the rest of the season, there is nothing to stop another team coming in and stealing the deal in the summer

We seriously lack movement in the opposition third.

As of right now we only have Barnes and Vardy who offer good movement, make runs in behind and turn defences. Pereira and Chilwell too but they’re coming from deep.

It’s good we’re after a creative CM but we need our forwards to be providing an option in dangerous areas of the pitch for him to pass to.

Lack of Creativity in CM is a big issue of course, but the lack of movement from our forwards is even more worrying. How many times has Gray / Maddison / Albrighton done a diagonal run in behind or got in between the lines and turned on goal.

We could sign Zidane in his prime but if our forwards aren’t making the runs or providing an option then the only option is like Mendy and Ndidi... Sideways and back.

A loan deal isn't necessarily a bad option for us. He either does amazingly well and we end the season on a high, if we can get him permanently then great but if not then it'll not have been worthless to us. If he is a disaster then he goes back anyway and we look again, or he is indifferent but Puel believes he is a player who will do well here in time and we get him permanently as Monaco aren't arsed. I would certainly fancy him playing more this season than Silva under Puel so for that reason alone I want him in. If he can show us that there is more to life than Ndidi and Mendy then Puel has no excuses going forward.

I can’t quite see us getting this one over the line. But it might be worth a punt he was at some point a fantastic talent and maybe he’s the type of defensive midfielder we need to play Puel’s football. Prepare though by the sounds of it to have a bit of a character on our hands if it does come off...

tbh i can this time tbh given it will be a loan, but anything is possible with our club lol

a loan with an option to buy and Silva going the other way with an option to buy is a win win for all imo

Why the hell would they do that?

BOBI Belgian Out (Fellani) Belgian In

But seriously, God knows - might be bull anyway - he would probably not get a game if he went there

See I read one, where they said he had a poor start, but has found some form of late... (before he was dropped for Fabregas). His passing stats were poor, but was playing forward/ambitious passes...

I'd be welcome to see any fresh faces to be honest, maybe that is what the squad needs, new people in training, a sense of intrigue, as the form/season is just petering out at the moment.

Looking forward to this signing. If for nothing else than the likely resurrection of the laurie Cunningham chant- oh youri youri! Youri youri youri youri tiel-e-mans!

Don't really see the point in a loan, if he does well there'll be bigger clubs after him and he isn't gonna turn those down just because he's a fan of Vardy's dressing room banter. If he sucks then he sucks. It'll be hard to find an inbetween and snap him up in the summer lol

Well it gets rid of Silva, if he does well there then we might get some money back on him, whether we end up signing this lad or not.

Perhaps he would consider is long term career as well, rather than jumping to a big club and probably not playing. A lot of English lads seem to be figuring this out now, go where the game time is.

Tielemans is a curious case as he was really highly talked about, gets a 5 year deal with Monaco and I think he cost them about £25m. Im not sure what has happened to him to allegedly be linked with a move away for less than what they paid for him. I know Monaco have struggled in most positions this season but its strange he hasnt taken to the step up to French football. To make it into France Footballs top ten worst signings last summer doesnt bode well either. He is young though so willno doubt improve but I am worried he has struggled to step up from Belgian to French football.
