I’m surprised they didn’t some how shoe horn Ronaldo into a MOTM performance, I’ve always assumed presenters, commentators etc were on some kind of bonus if they drooled all over him whilst he played!

Apparently,  Lineker was upset too. They had the cup in the studio during the live motd match and it had red ribbons tied to it. Convention usually sees the holders ribbons on it.

It's the sponsors colours. I don't think tradition or convention matters much now.

Thats Why I mostly Dont wait for MOTD...

Highlights ..can usually be found over Internet 2 hrs before..offen in English,though its always interesting to Listen

to our European neighbours game or postmatch opinions
