Maguire to Man Utd / Man City

Well Dunk is happening isn't it... that follow looks like it happened, them signing a new bloke for £25m (by the way if he's worth £25m and Harry £80m, then Dunk is going to cost us £40m).

So long as it's Dunk and £40m on a cracking winger then I'm happy TBH.

If you don't know Mark Goldbridge is the owner of The United Stand channel on youtube and from Nottingham.

Doesn’t that depend how much extra we will have to pay to get deals done in the final week ????

three weeks ago we could bluff sellers that we could go elsewhere

Dropping £20m for that privilege is ludicrous.

We don't need to buy a CB, we may prefer to but it is certainly not essential.

I’ve read this thread with interest, I’ve got to say I’ve never seen anything like this both within and outside of football. Like any product or service, it’s supply and demand. Man Utd want to sign a player from us and we have no real driver to sell other than the opportunity to get a significant transfer fee.

Man Utd issues are compounded by a) their openness in desperately wanting Harry b) The fact they have no CB of the required standard, and a recent injury c) a track record of over spending.

This is simple business and Leicester hold all the cards. The level of entitlement from Man Utd is unbelievable. Yes there is a human aspect to this deal but, and I’m sure Harry recognises this, he is paid extremely well, playing international football at a club which is progressing. I’m sure he wants to play for Man Utd but equally he made a commitment last summer, one which gives Leicester the control to set a fee they think is fair. I think the club have been nothing but professional.

For purely selfish reasons, I'd rather we signed Dunk than Tarkowski just for the fact my 89 year old dad might be able to pronounce his name?

This is the thing United fans are constantly forgetting (or choosing to ignore).

Maguire knew of their interest last summer, and yet he still signed a long-term 5 year contract with us, with no release clause. Meaning that we hold all the cards and we decide what happens, noone else. Of course we don't want to come across as obstructing a player unfairly, but up until this point United haven't met the terms we set (and laid out clearly to Harry at the start of the window) and so he remains a Leicester player. The only way we could be accused of obstructing him is if we say 'No' after either our asking price is met (with the terms we dictated - i.e. cash upfront) or he hands in a transfer request and a fair offer is made and enough time left in the window. Even then, it's still up to us to decide and we can say no (as United fans should be aware of, considering they did the same with De Gea's proposed move to Madrid).

We're not the bad guys in this situation. We're not going to be liked by everybody, but United fans thinking that they have some sort of god-given right to sign him on their terms is ridiculous.

Agent (who is a lovely guy, which is rare) will make a lot of money if the player he represents signs for a Manchester team for 80m+. He will obviously be pushing for the move.

Player is a well paid professional who wants to play at the highest level, but is not unhappy in any way.

Club want to keep player. They have set an asking price and a time frame.

HM will leave if valuation met within timeframe. I’m not sure it will be.

From page 215 if anyone wants to skip the other 165

Yet another ex-player with no affiliation to Leicester having his say. Glen Johnson keep your f***ing nose out it's nothing to do with you, and if you want to force a move hand a transfer request in and forego your bonus

Agent's done expectational well to get a clutch of ex Pro's/clients to do this for him.

That's about it?

A few years back he was saying what a good player Ken Turner was.

After saying I'd no idea who he was on about, he said 'you must do, French bloke who players for Man Utd and he's a bit of a head case'

Cantona ?
