What will happen to the current training ground site? Presumably be made in to housing development...

I seem to have it in the back of my mind from years back that there’s some kind of covenant in place which means it can’t be developed on and has to retain a sporting use, I could have dreamt that mind lol.

Would be ideal for the women to move in though.

not building houses it’s a flood plain so foundations won’t handle it plus they don’t own all the land.i spoke to them as my house backs on to the training ground and i was assured no houses will be built.i was told it will be u21s u23s women or even tigers will take it on.

If they want to get it through the City Planning Dept. quickly several bland rectangular blocks of flats with minimum sized rooms with no parking spaces and a cycle track going nowherequickly

Don't know about Belviour Drive but it was reported that Freeman's Wharf has a covenant preventing anything other than sporting/recreation purposes. That's why Morrisons couldn't have it.

I thought they had agreed planning permission but it was time related and that time ran out and LCFC nipped in and took it over.

Seems so long ago now but my recollection was that Morrisons pursuit of the site went as far as the House of Lords before being rejected. Initially, City incorporated retail and fast food outlets in the stadium designs but that was also rejected. I think they got permission for the hotel but lost the site during administration before being developed by Holiday Inn Express. I think City got the land on the cheap eventually as Power gen couldn't sell it to anyone else.

You could be right although it looks like they got 'Conditional Approval' Not looked any further than that.

I guess it doesn't really matter.

Looks like it's going to something we can all be incredibly proud of and will make us such a desirable club for players to come to, particularly youngsters.

Can't wait for some Forest, Derby, Cov etc fan saying that they, or their mate, worked there and they planted their shirt under where the pitch is.

😄😄

I'm a little concerned about these exterior doors, no balconies, on the top level.
