Fox992 Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Harry Maguire available again but I think he should start on bench as Wes has done nothing wrong for the past 2 games.
Aus Fox Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 At the end of the day, he gets some criticism on here, but harry is our best defender and when fit should start every week.
Wolfox Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 He goes straight back in…. Wes has been phenomenal and has more than amply shown why he was worth his new 1 year deal…. Mags is high quality and the future as long as we can stop the vultures circling…
Tielemans63 Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 In my mind the answer should be no. He needs to up his game to get back in ahead of Wes. Harry is a cracking defender but he's not in great form. Making him work for it wouldn't be a bad thing imho. Plus I think it should be a meritocracy as much as possible.
The whole world smiles Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Wes deserves to start, but.... He is about to start his final year here he is old and has lost a little bit of pace. The manager has openly spoke about the fact that he won't be starting every week. Harry is one of Europe's best defenders, in the prime of his life who we all fully expect to have offers from bigger clubs than ours in the summer. If we want to have any chance of keeping him happy and wearing blue next season he needs to feel indispensable here. So a no brainer for me.
Fox seen in Norwich Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Give Harry the weekend off to spend time with his new baby and family. Wes capable and doing well, sonch on the bench.

TrentFox Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Wes is playing well. He keeps his place. If you get dropped when you are playing well, what’s the incentive to train hard? Squad morale killer for me.
Blanchflower78 Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Wes starts, if it were a tougher opposition then I'm sure Harry comes in. Cant see the gaffer changing it for this
CloudFox Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 It makes sense to keep Wes in. He's in form, Harry's not particularly, and Harry deserves a bit of a break after the amount of football he's played, let alone the fact that he's just had his first kid. For the first time in a while, I'm comfortable with either of them starting, but it's a good opportunity for Harry to get a rest.
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 People whining that wes is old and lost pace, yet he is the best blocker of the ball we have at the club and reads the game better than most. And the pace? You make out like Maguire is rapid, he isn't and he has the turning circle of continental drift Wes has earned his starting place so far

UniFox21 Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 For me, Wes starts. 2 goals in 2 games and generally solid performances. The place is Wes' to lose right now, Maguire needs to prove he deserves that place
Grebfromgrebland Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Fact is we let in more goals when Harry plays.
Guest Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Harry is a much better player nowadays than old Wes. He must come straight back in. So many who don't think so will be back to calling our dear captain out when he makes his first error in the initial ten minutes of the match. I find it hard not to be using Soyunco instead of Wes when he should be our future as from our next "meaningful" match but not to play Harry would be suicide and would justify Harry leaving at the end of the season.
Analysethis Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Harry always comes alive in bigger games and for England. We all whisper amongst ourselves that he isnt worth the 50-60m that has been touted for him as he has a lack of pace and can b a bit cumbersome at times but I think he needs to play ahead of Wes. As much as I love the legend that is Wes he cant carry the ball out like Harry and his style of play will assist the Brendan way. Get him in and let Wes loose on 85 mins to play up front Walshy style!

I’m fairly confident Harry would come back in and feel sure Brenda has told Wes he wants him to stay for his presence and as back up ... but Brenda has also said that he will be bearing in mind the birth of H’s daughter ... he not only might be emotionally drained but has missed a lot of the build up training ... could go either way.
Ted Maul Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Says a lot about Jonny Evans' performances over the last few months that he's not even in this discussion.
smr Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Absolutely not. Morgan has been solid for us recently and play brilliantly. Why change a winning team? Boggles the mind.

Blue ROI Posted 6 April 2019 Posted 6 April 2019 Never thought I'd say it but it would be harsh to drop Morgan especially after the last 2 games. Maguire is the better defender but Morgan has been in better form. I'd be willing to give the nod to the captain here.Rightly he took a lot of flak for the Bournemouth away and Everton games but he delivered the goods against Burnley and last weekend v Bournemouth at home. Same again please skip.
