Imagine a footballer who, at 23, was playing in the depths of England's sixth tier, while his peers were dazzling on the grandest stages. Jamie Vardy, a name synonymous with the miraculous Leicester City triumph, is the epitome of an underdog story that will be told for generations. In 2010, while the likes of Cesc Fàbregas captained Arsenal and Lionel Messi had already claimed his first Ballon d'Or, Vardy was with Stocksbridge Park Steels. Fast forward to today, and Vardy's journey from obscurity to Premier League stardom is nothing short of legendary.
Vardy's rise began when he moved to Fleetwood Town in the Conference Premier, quickly showcasing his goal-scoring prowess. His leap to Leicester City in the Championship marked a turning point. So confident was he in his potential that he included a national team appearance bonus in his contract—a clause the club owner found laughable at the time. Yet, this audacious move foreshadowed a fairytale career.
In the 2014-2015 season, Vardy's five crucial goals helped Leicester City narrowly escape relegation. The following year, defying 5000-to-1 odds, Leicester clinched the Premier League title, with Vardy's relentless scoring making headlines worldwide. Season after season, he continues to be a formidable force, consistently netting over 20 goals.
Jamie Vardy's story isn't just about football; it's about the triumph of the human spirit against all odds. His journey inspires dreamers everywhere, proving that with perseverance and self-belief, even the most improbable dreams can come true.

Have been reading up on Como and their rise and fall x2.

They can't afford half a Vardy by the sounds of it. So no surprise Fabregas has mooted that rumour.

It can really just be a case of Vardy arranging meeting with Wise and just enjoying a bit of a break.

Como just signed Bellotti on a free - so their very rich owners can splash the cash

he’s getting a documentary this season as it’s expected to be his last!

Is this like the movies everyone is still waiting for or is it for real this time?

Last season I remember being behind the goal at Tranmere and hearing Vardy chattering on to the Tranmere centre halfs up close and personal. It was relentless. They just ignored him completely but he'd be in their ear constantly. Then there was a corner and the announcer read out the attendance which was something pitiful! Vards shouted "****ING hell" and then put his hand on his stomach insinuating a belly laugh as the ball is flying in from the corner! Classic stuff.
