That's just crazy, I mean I knew he was good, but to actually be top scorer over that period despite a serious goal drought last season, is just beyond human. He's odds on to get a century of goals after turning 30 I bet that record will stand for a long time.

Just goes to show how underrated he is by pretty much everyone apart from Leicester fans.

Teddy Sheringham scored 35 PL goals after turning 35 including 2 at the age of 40. One of those seasons was in the Championship. On the whole JV's rate of scoring is much higher than his. I know one has pace and the other didn’t but barring injuries, could he hit 200?

Hope I'm not tempting fate, so crossed fingers.

Vardy could have 3 season (Including this one) left with the right time around him.

His goals have become less about pace and more about positioning and movement.

For me it all depends on his appetite for the game. As a late bloomer, he's still looks to have lots of hunger.

Do people think he will get a contract extension? His current deal runs out in just over 18 months time. He will be 36 years old by then.

Would need another 75 PL goals to get 200.

That's 3 x 20 goals seasons and 1 x 15 season.

Not sure he going to get there but, anything over 150 would be amazing.

I think he could play till he’s 37-38, but he may just decide to call it day, and focus on other things.

Yep Salah best player in the world apparently

“He’s always been up there, regarded as one of the world’s best. His numbers since signing for Liverpool warrant nothing less than that. They can make for silly reading. But now this season, he’s showing he’s the best.”

When you actually look at the shooting stats comparisons there is very little in it

I just want him to catch Michael Owen (which he should.)

He's already comfortably beating him for averages.

Owen:

326 apps

150 goals (0.46 per app)

31 assists (0.09 per app)

Vardy:

253 apps

125 goals (0.49 per app)

39 assists (0.15 per app)

And that's having done it entirely for Leicester City, whilst Owen played for two of the biggest clubs in the world (and Newcastle.)

Not a natural fvcking finisher indeed (no, I won't ever let that go.)

Edit: poor wording.

What I really want is an all time, Premier League goal conversion ratio because I genuinely think Vards must be one of the most efficient of all time.

His goals per shot is consistently one of the best anywhere in the world which is what truly makes him a natural finisher. He's lethal.

I'd like to know what Owen's conversion rate was but I don't know how far back those sorts of stats are reliably recorded.

Me too, I'm counting them down.

Anything over 150 is a bonus. If he's get 20 this season which is looking likely without injury or a barren spell like last year, he's needs 12 more to get 150.

Would love him to get another golden boot.

Think its also over looked that for 4 of the 7 finish PL seasons he's played for a side that has only been mid table.

Wiki has it on the PL 100 club page.

His 8th on the list ratio wise with 0.49, Owen is 9th with 0.46.

That's goals per game. Finnegan is after a goals per shot ratio

So we can all finally agree that he is genuinely WORLD CLASS.

If he is still banging them in, he will definitely get a new contract.  He has looked as good as ever so far this season after looking like Father Time was catching up with him last.  A full off season has done him the world of good.

Is that assuming an appearance is 90 minutes?

He’s had his hands tied there ……

From the Guardian report:

Also:

"Although Puel insists he retains the faith of the squad, his tendency to fall out with and exile senior players has become a burden."

"with fans protesting and investors balking at the team’s dire position, Puel is not done defending himself."

Didn't Vardy miss a penalty vs Everton in the title-winning season, final game?

He did. Absolutely blazed it over the bar hilariously and would have had a hattrick.

He was involved in ongoing verbals with Robles iirc and got a bit carried away trying to wind him up.

How can Vardy have a lower shooting accuracy when he has more shots on target from fewer shots overall?
