cityfanlee23 Posted 13 May 2019 Posted 13 May 2019 I'm not sure if we have one, but if we don't is it not about time we made one and placed the club legends in there? Theres the obvious legends of the past, and the more recent legends such as Vichai, theres obviously a strong argument for the prominent prem winning players. Do we have an official HOF?
urban.spaceman Posted 13 May 2019 Posted 13 May 2019 I think we have something like that already in the KP. Personally I think we should have a fan version with things like the stolen Filbert Street signs and deflated inflatable dinosaurs.
Guest Posted 13 May 2019 Posted 13 May 2019 oh how American! Is Vardy our MVP? I'm looking forward to the top 8 having a best of 7 series of games in a knockout format to decide who are the Champions.
RoboFox Posted 13 May 2019 Posted 13 May 2019 Would prefer a FoxesTalk hall of fame. The greatest threads of all time.

Stoopid Posted 13 May 2019 Posted 13 May 2019 Like the Tigers' Wall Of Legends thing on Welford Rd? Looks like a toff's version of a police mugshot file.

If I have to wear heels, I keep them as short as I can get away with... Since I'm not dealing with customers face to face here at work, I'm allowed to get away without having to wear them atm. (YES!)
copunk Posted 14 May 2019 Posted 14 May 2019 Not really aware if this sort of thing is really common place in English football, yes players get honoured in other ways but i wondered if this was an actual thing amongst clubs, and if we even have one? If not who would you put in?
fazzyfox Posted 14 May 2019 Posted 14 May 2019 Arsenal have former player names displayed prominently on the outside walls of their stadium with their associated shirt numbers I think, I don't know how they arrived at their selection, whether there was a fans poll (surely Spurs fans would sabotage the vote and have the likes of Perry Groves included). It's a nice tribute but it's a fine line between those names and those not included. Theres seems to be more a case of preserving the clubs history by saying we are the same club that played at Highbury and you wonder to whose benefit a hall of fame is. Is it for the clubs own fans or for casual outsiders to dip into and get a taste of the clubs past or is it for the players themselves to feel honoured and proud to be in it or their families and future generations? Maybe if you had an evolving list of the 30 players with most appearances it would be factual but that would mean the likes of Kante or even Huth wouldn't qualify. They could start by nominating one addition at each player of the year awards, like the lifetime achievement (or contribution to...) presented to the player or a relative of players like Weller, Rowley and Chandler. Where do you start and stop though and which person or committee (or forum) decides? STH's and members vote? Until then Vichai, Vardy, Walshy, Lineker, Shilton, Rowley and co are only part of the same exclusive "club" in our opinions, hearts and minds. Does formality matter?
ThorpeAstleyFox Posted 14 May 2019 Posted 14 May 2019 What I would really like to see is a LCFC Museum incorporated into the East Stand extension including sections on famous players, greatest achievements and Vichai.
