Well in no particular order somewhere in my top ten there are these but there’s I’m sure a few I’ve missed out and would want to change my mind on!

Tom Morello

Kirk Hammet

Mark Knopfler

Slash

Brian May

Bob Dylan

Jonny Ramone

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Had the pleasure of seeing him live 4 times.

Jeff Beck -  Saw him 3 times live.

Randy Rhoads - Died way too young.

I could do a much longer list, but those 3 are my top choices.

Love his style. Got to see him at the Hummingbird Birmingham in the early 90's. He was so.off his head he hardly played a note, was so disappointed.

When I was a guitarist I spent a lot of time trying to emulate the likes of:

Tom Morello

Steve Vai

Joe Satriani

Yngwie Malmsteen

Paul Gilbert

That's why I gave up.

Growing up as a kid I used to love Angus Young and as time went on I appreciated how good his brother Malcom was.

Nile Rogers is a great guitarist and Prince is overlooked as a guitarist imo, little man could play!

- Wilko Johnson (Dr. Feelgood, Ian Dury & Blockheads, solo)

- Stuart Adamson (Skids, Big Country)

- Steve Jones (Sex Pistols)

- Link Wray

- Duane Eddy

- Michael Rother (Neu!)

- Barney McKenna (Dubliners) on banjo & mandolin, as I suspect there'll be no demand for a "Favourite Banjoists" thread. :D

Oh, and chuck in Viv Albertine (Slits) for equal opportunities...
