We need to shift some now before buying. The squad is getting bloated. Too many frustrated fellas can affect the mood. Plus surely we need to balance the accounts a bit.

I agree. I think it looks like we might cash in on Mendy first, since there is interest. I think the rest (King, Silva, Slimani, Ghezzal, Diabate, Kapustka) might mostly leave on loan near the end of the window when clubs know where they stand re: squads. It would be nice to actually sell some of these, rather than just have part of their wages paid on loan, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Feel like everything is going to happen at the very end. Like a game of chicken. Except there are so many variables.

Like the wild west. PL clubs not wanting to overpay vs. clubs wanting maximum value because they know we have a stack.

Not everyone can play for Barca or Madrid or the other mega rich clubs.............Who will flinch first?

Nothing’s changed.

Midfielder to add to squad/replace PM. 20m+ to challenge and push to start.

Quality finished article winger. (This one May end up being reactive)

Centre back if HM goes. (As above, but irons placed lightly in fires)

Youth for U23 that play in the style the first XI are being prepared in.

Please can you expand on what you mean by that, reactive as in we will only sign one when we've moved on Ghezzal or Gray or as in the player we bring in is available as a result of their club needing funds to buy others?

Great info. Guess it's going to be tough to get in a quality finished article winger in this market with a shed load of teams after similar players. Hopefully other big transfers on the continent lead to an opportunity arising.

Rate that.

If we're going to go big on a domestic centre half it's got to be Ake.

... Would be good to have a winger brought in at least.

My worry is, and I am sure it has been said before, it appears we are not looking outside of the UK for our players. There are deals to be done for outstanding players in Europe but we appear to be ignoring the opportunity.

Without being overly critical, are we experiencing the Congerton effect in as much as aside from Tielemans and the money we have spent, have we got value for our money. Buying inside the UK is pricey compared to Europe where I feel there is better value for money

I suspect they game plan going into the window could have been to buy mainly within the UK, like you said as it reduces some likelihood of settling issues.

I doubt though that the plan was to buy exclusively from British clubs but rather it be, get in mostly players who can settle faster and then take that chance on one or two from abroad.

Assume reactive means pouncing once another team have brought someone in and are therefore willing to let someone go

Nice just to hear a name so we are aware of the calibre of player we are looking at lol

Could still end up being Townsend

I'm probably mad but think Perisic could genuinely be a go-er... I've become more and more confident of that after seeing us get Youri over the line and make moves for people like Praet who probably need convincing about the club.

Are we looking to shift some on if we bring in new players?

The two who’s surnames begin with ‘G’, and Diabate if we’re counting him?

I took it to mean "we expect some players to become available in the last week or two of the window once top clubs have done their business and we'll see how the land lays then"

I don't think our purchase of a winger and Praet depends on sales.
