I think the rest (King, Silva, Slimani, Ghezzal, Diabate, Kapustka) might mostly leave on loan near the end of the window when clubs know where they stand re: squads. PL clubs not wanting to overpay vs. clubs wanting maximum value because they know we have a stack. Guess it's going to be tough to get in a quality finished article winger in this market with a shed load of teams after similar players. Buying inside the UK is pricey compared to Europe where I feel there is better value for money I suspect they game plan going into the window could have been to buy mainly within the UK, like you said as it reduces some likelihood of settling issues. I doubt though that the plan was to buy exclusively from British clubs but rather it be, get in mostly players who can settle faster and then take that chance on one or two from abroad.
