It don't get finished off though.

...it's just before the refs whistle to start the game!!!

I would think another 10 seconds prior to the whistle would be just right. It builds into, (for want of a better word) a climax, that just doesn't happen.

Yes, the song needs to start earlier so it doesn't just feel like a little gesture.

Being started by a fan in the pub and continuing to be sung for 50 years is the most legit origin story for a song linked to a football club

A fantastic example of intangible heritage.

Can't believe there are still people against this, was one of my first memories at Filbert Street as a kid, I didn't have a clue what the song was, didn't know any of the words but knew to give it the hands and "The Leicester" at the end.

Id love us to find a way for the song to cut out and let the fans have the last "The whole world smiles with you" and still finish with "The Leicester"

Will take some work but bloody love that we finally have "our" anthem belting out before kick off

100% this!

Hey Jude is a great standalone song but overplayed by most clubs pre match over the last 10 years or so

I'd say the same for Sweet Caroline.   A great song, but the last 5 years it's been overplayed post-match far too much   (not at Leicester, in fairness, but at so many other clubs).

Anyone else always get the words 'crying' and 'sighing' the wrong way around or just me?

Anyway, love that it's being played now, sounds great.

It's got words?

Every Time we do it, it makes me cringe, it's like watching your wedding first dance, very superficial and made up for the audience.

Everything is made up to a point.

It's literally been a song for years. I've been going 30 years and it's been sung for all that time.

My first game was 1982 and went to several that season and sure it was sung then pretty much every game .

I agree, it's a timeless tune, I even enjoyed the 90's rap version and even the lambada one but this thing we're singing stinks of cheesy cheese.

I only realised 3 or 4 years ago via posts on here that it's been 'the Leicester, clap clap clap' ....

.

I'd ALWAYS sung 'A (as in short a) Leicester, clap clap clap'

In fairness, it does sound a bit like "a" rather than "the".

But there's only one Leicester.  Thank God.  So it had to be "the".
