Italian papers were saying we upped our bid to €20m + bonuses over the weekend, Sampdoria want €25-26m.

 

They are short on wingers in fairness, given Di Francesco wants to play 4-3-3 and has inherited a squad playing a diamond from Giampaolo. Serie A would probably suit Ghezzal too.

Interesting if Rachid is involved too. I have a bit of a soft spot for him - just hope if he is included in a deal, it is a good move for him too. It can't be easy just being passed from club to club like this like a spare part. He's got some great vision in him - just needs somewhere which suits his strengths.

Ghezzal was pictured at Birmingham airport the other day... probably nothing in it and it could have been an old photo too. Who knows.
