Loan watch 2019-20

Recommended Posts

Cheers LCFC1996. Didn't realise Ndukwu has a hamstring injury - it's really not looking good for him: kept in the u23s without much development (as with the rest of the midfield there) and then nearly zero development in league one's relegation zone. So Loft scored a rare goal and then didn't feature in Carsile's next match. I imagine he'll remain there or in another league two bench next season.

Potentially Mendy, Benko, Nacho going on loan in Jan

#lcfc banked a £80m lump sum up front from #mufc for Harry Maguire (very rare in big money transfers), as Brendan Rodgers prepares for January signings. Also in this: Mendy & Benkovic set for moves away in Jan

The problem with Slimani wasn’t so much his lack of output - he never really got much of a look in - the issue was that he seemed to have an attitude problem that threatened to destabilise the dressing room. Hopefully the buy clause claims are false and the club can capitalise on his current form by getting a decent price, but in any event it is obviously best he is sold ASAP.

Iversen kept a clean sheet yesterday as Rotherham put two past Ipswich, knocking Ipswich off League One's top spot in favour of Josh Knight's Peterborough, as Peterborough scored four against Lamine Sherif's League One strugglers Accrington Stanley. Peterborough, Ipswich and Wycombe are all on 27 points at the top of league one although Ipswich have a game in hand. Iversen's Rotherham are creeping towards the playoff places too on 21 points. Injured Ndukwu's Southend sit at the bottom of league one with Bolton on 5 points and -5 points respectively.

Out of our young players on loan, who do we think is most likely to break into the squad, if any at all?

Knight seems to be playing well, interesting to see if he can step up to championship level, and Iversen isn't playing badly either.

Hughes seems unable to get a game, same with Ndukwu which is concerning.

Knight could be a good utility player for us like how Chambers covers CB, RB, and DM for Arsenal

Hughes and Loft are struggling to get games in league two. Ndukwu when not injured was struggling to get games in league one. Iversen seems to be doing okay in league one. Seems like he could play in the Championship since Brentfird wanted him his season. Posh fans think Knight is destined for better things but the loan is doing him good to develop his midfield game, something he'd not get in the u23s. Sowah at OHL could be doing good things, I've no idea. He had a flurry of goals from midfield then nothing but fairly regular minutes. Knight and Iversen need to get in the Championship asap. Knight, hopefully by New Years.

Josh for sure. It's no coincidence the sudden drop in form of the u23s when he left on loan last season.

Loft scored his second of the season after coming on in the 75th minute to win the match for Carsile as they beat Macclesfield 2-1. Josh Knight saw Peterborough lose 3-4 to midtable Blackpool, a match which featured two own goals. Ndukwu, back from injury, saw Southend achieve another loss from the bench. Hughes played five minutes at the tail end of Salford City's victory at promotion candidate Newport. God league one and two are horrid. They're on Whoscored now however!
