Gotta add George  Thomas to this! Gone on loan to ADO Den Haag. Not bad and will hopefully get good experience playing in that league.

Best bit of the Mercury article on it “He has made 14 appearances in the Premier League 2, setting up four goals and providing four assists.”. He does like setting up assists 🤔

The latest on Leicester City's 11 loanees, looking at a win for George Thomas, a Huddersfield debut for Andy King, another clean sheet for Daniel Iversen, and more

George Thomas made a winning start to his ADO Den Haag career as the Dutch relegation battlers won a six-pointer against RKC Waalwijk.

Wales international midfielder Thomas left his role as Leicester City’s Under-23s captain to join Den Haag on loan last week and was thrown straight into the starting 11, the 22-year-old playing 90 minutes in the 2-0 win.

As Thomas and his new team-mates took to the field for the game, they were greeted with a tifo of manager Alan Pardew and his assistant, former City left-back Chris Powell, mocked up as Ghostbusters.

Why? Because the Dutch word ‘degradatiespook’, which literally translates as ‘relegation ghost’, is a common idiom in the Netherlands for teams that fear the drop.

Elsewhere, Andy King made his debut for new loan club Huddersfield.

The City icon played the final nine minutes of the Terriers’ goalless draw with promotion-chasing Brentford.

In League One, Daniel Iversen kept his eighth clean sheet of the season between the sticks for Rotherham, who beat Bristol Rovers 3-0 for a fifth straight win, a run that has taken them from outside the play-offs spot to top of the table.

Josh Knight has not represented Peterborough since suffering a muscle injury in November, but could return this weekend, against Iversen’s Rotherham.

In League Two, Sam Hughes played the final 11 minutes for nine-man Salford City as they held on for a 2-1 win over Forest Green.

Ryan Loft was an injury-time replacement in Carlisle’s 1-1 draw with Oldham.

Overseas, Kamal Sowah played 60 minutes as City’s sister club OH Leuven lost 3-1 at home to Westerlo.

Rachid Ghezzal was an unused substitute as Fiorentina beat Napoli 2-0, the Algerian winger now without an appearance in La Viola’s last six games.

Islam Slimani and Adrien Silva were both left out of the squad as Monaco defeated fourth-tier Saint-Pryve Saint Hilaire 3-1 in the Coupe de France. It was a free weekend for Fousseni Diabate, whose Amiens side were knocked out of the competition earlier in the year.

Young Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored on his debut for Blackpool last weekend, while two other Foxes recently made their loan bows as a total of 10 featured over the weekend.
- Leicester City’s loan stars continued their progress over the weekend
- A total of ten Foxes featured in four separate countries
- Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Admiral Muskwe and Andy King have all recently made their loan debuts

Dewsbury-Hall, 21, captained the Development Squad this campaign before heading to Bloomfield Road last month.

He made an immediate impact, making his Blackpool bow and getting on the scoresheet in a 2-1 defeat by Wycombe Wanderers in League 1, before 90 minutes in a 2-1 loss at Oxford United followed.

Zimbabwe international striker Admiral Muskwe, meanwhile, also made his first appearance for Swindon Town in their 2-1 League 2 success against Exeter City.

An Archie Collins own goal and Hallam Hope’s strike won it for the hosts, as Muskwe came off the bench late on at the County Ground.

Another man to head out on loan in January was experienced midfielder Andy King, who has won the League 1, Championship and Premier League titles with the Foxes.

King has since made two substitute appearances in Huddersfield Town’s 2-1 win at Hull City and their narrow 3-2 loss at Fulham.

In League 2, striker Ryan Loft bagged his sixth goal for Carlisle United in their 2-1 triumph against Walsall in late January.

He then came off the bench at the weekend as Nathan Thomas struck a hat-trick in Carlisle’s 4-1 victory at Forest Green.

In the same division, Mitch Clark went straight into Port Vale’s starting line-up for Saturday’s encounter with Salford at Vale Park.

The young full-back played from start to finish as Salford’s Tom Elliott responded to Cameron Burgess’ own goal in a 1-1 draw in Staffordshire.

Daniel Iversen, meanwhile, has been on loan at Rotherham United since the start of the season and has now made 32 appearances in all competitions in 2019/20.

His most recent came in a 3-2 success over Burton Albion, which saw the Millers open up a three-point gap at the League 1 summit.

Over in Italy, Algeria international winger Rachid Ghezzal came up against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus in Serie A.

Ghezzal played 60 minutes in the 3-0 loss, with Ronaldo scoring twice and centre-back Matthijs de Ligt adding a third in injury time.

There were also two Foxes in loan action in France’s Ligue 1, with Fousseni Diabaté representing Amiens and Adrien Silva featuring for AS Monaco.

Silva played the full 90 minutes, while Islam Slimani did not feature for Robert Moreno’s outfit, who suffered a 3-1 loss to Nimes after being reduced to nine men following the dismissal of both Tiémoué Bakayoko and Gelson Martins.

On the same day, Diabaté was introduced with eight minutes to play as Amiens were held to a goalless draw by Toulouse at Stade de la Licorne.

Finally, Kamal Sowah completed 80 minutes for Belgian Proximus League side OH Leuven in their 2-1 win over KSV Roeselare on Saturday evening.

Sowah has been a key member of Leuven’s side this campaign, as Vincent Euvrard’s men came from behind thanks to efforts from Tom van Hyfte and Thomas Henry.

Wales international George Thomas did not feature for ADO Den Haag in their goalless draw with Vitesse Arnhem, while Filip Benković could make his first appearance for Bristol City on Friday when they face Birmingham City on Friday in the Championship.

They seem to love him there. Really hope he makes it into our First team

He... he needs to get out of league one football. He’s so injury prone, but skillful, he seems like a player who’ll will make it later than the usual. Honestly he needed to get to the championship at his age.

I actually think with CL football next season he would be of some use to us but it is a chance to perhaps get £9-12m for him which with 1 year left of his deal is more attractive I imagine and then get in a 3rd choice striker who can do a job.

Too far down the road for that, no way he wants back in and doubt he'd be accepted

Islam Slimani scored a last-minute winner as a Monaco side also including Adrien Silva defeated Fousseni Diabaté's Amiens in Ligue 1 on Saturday.

Recent Loan Debuts For Three City Stars
- Eleven Leicester City players featured while out on loan over the most recent weekend
- Islam Slimani scored as a Monaco side also featuring Adrien Silva beat Fousseni Diabaté's Amiens
- Filip Benković made his maiden appearance for Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship
- Another six Foxes featured in the Football League, while Kamal Sowah starred in Belgium's second tier

Three Leicester City loanees featured at Stade de la Licorne, with Silva and Diabaté among the starters, while Slimani was introduced as a second-half substitute for the visitors.

Amiens took the lead inside just nine minutes through Sehrou Guirassy and looked destined for victory before Wissam Ben Yedder's 85th minute equaliser and a 90th-minute winner from Slimani.

It means the Algeria international's tally of goals rises to eight in Monaco colours, while he has also registered seven assists for Leonardo Jardim's side, who climb to seventh in Ligue 1.

Elsewhere, Academy graduate Josh Knight also scored, the third goal of his loan spell, for Sky Bet League 1 side Peterborough United in a 4-0 success over Oxford United on Saturday.

The Posh were 2-0 up - thanks to efforts from Siriki Dembélé and Ivan Toney - by the time Nathan Thompson was dismissed in the 63rd minute at ABAX Stadium.

However, the home side kept pushing forwards and another strike from Toney preceded Knight's last-ditch goal, in the sixth minute of added time, to keep Peterborough third in the League 1 standings.

Andy King has made three appearances for Huddersfield Town since joining them on loan in January.

In the Championship, on the other hand, defender Filip Benković made his debut for seventh-placed Bristol City as a 58th-minute substitute during a frustrating 3-1 loss to Birmingham City at Ashton Gate.

The Robins in fact went ahead in the first minute, courtesy of Jamie Paterson's goal, but later efforts from Scott Hogan and Lukas Jutkiewicz, either side of Andreas Weimann's own goal, settled it.

Andy King, meanwhile, made his fourth appearance for Huddersfield Town in a 2-0 win against Queens Park Rangers at John Smith's Stadium, emerging from the bench in the 74th minute.

Elias Kachunga netted first before Steve Mounie's penalty added another to leave Danny Cowley's men - whose side included ex-City defenders Danny Simpson and Richard Stearman - 19th in the table.

King, who won the Premier League, Championship and League 1 titles with the Foxes, has now won two, drawn one and lost one of his four matches with the Terriers so far.

In League 1, goalkeeper Daniel Iversen kept the 10th cleansheet of his spell at Rotherham United with Matt Crooks scoring the only goal of the game to seal a 1-0 win at Lincoln City on Friday.

The Millers - who Iversen has represented 29 times in the league - remain top of the third tier, three points clear of second-placed Wycombe Wanderers and four ahead of Knight's Peterborough.

Kamal Sowah was among the OHL players to welcome Leicester fans to Leuven over the weekend.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, on the other hand, was on the winning side for the first time, after two previous attempts, as Blackpool defeated Southend United at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

The midfielder netted his first-ever professional goal on his debut for the Tangerines last month, while their latest victory leaves them 14th.

Defender Mitchell Clark also appeared for Port Vale at the weekend, marking his second appearance with the League 2 club in 2019/20 with a 90-minute performance in a 1-0 win at Northampton Town.

David Worrall got the goal for Vale in the 72nd minute, registering a 12th win of the season, which places them ninth in the standings on 48 points from 32 matches in the second tier.

Admiral Muskwe was a second-half substitute for Swindon Town, meanwhile, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Carlisle United, who had Ryan Loft on the bench, at Brunton Park on Saturday.

Rarmani Edmonds-Green fired Swindon ahead on 11 minutes before Aaron Hayden levelled it, but Muskwe's side remain top of the fourth tier by a margin of two points over Crewe Alexandra.

Finally, in Belgium, also on Saturday, Kamal Sowah was among the starters for Oud-Heverlee Leuven in a notable 3-0 victory over S.K. Lommel at King Power at Den Dreef Stadium.

Jan Van den Bergh, Derrick Tshimanga and Jérémy Perbet netted for OHL, in front of a contingent of Leicester supporters in the crowd, to return Vincent Euvrard's men to the Proximus League summit.

Don't laugh at league 1 football

He’s at least Championship standard. You can only only develop so far in league one.

Seems like an age since Hamza broke though to the first team. Really keen to the see the next academy player. Knight seems the most likely.

Not sure what’s happening with our youth eng international lb. I was hoping for a jan loan.
