Gray brings more than Albrighton does these days, so he's slightly up the pecking order. Albrighton had his worst contribution to the team since 14/15 and is possibly on the decline.

There's no doubt Kevin has had his day here, the fact we're still considering who would add more out of him and Gray just shows how poor our recruitment has been. Gazzal and diabate should have been the answer but they're just not up to it, and perez as much as he tries, and I appreciate his contribution, he isn't a winger, we need new blood with the system we want to play, desperately.

If someone like Newcastle or Southampton want him, where he has a great chance of playing regularly, he shouldn't object to any offers for these opportunities.

Gray is like that crap relationship you k ow you should get out of.... You hope it will get better but it never does, in your heart you know its better if you just part company, you know it'd be better for both parties

No gray is more like that relationship you know Is nice and ‘works’ but don’t give it a chance because you think the grass is greener without them. Then when you move on you realise they were better after all.

errr what?

he’s played more than 140 games for us.

He’s never really had a good run. It’s hard to ever build any form if your constantly left out if you don’t score a hat trick. I think this season is his chance to play 5-10 games back to back wide right with Vardy and Barnes and see what he can do. He will deliver imo he’s looked great since lockdown.

And why is it that 4 managers haven't given him a good run in that time? One or two could be a personality thing but 4? It's because he's mediocre.

Even hypothetically that is just the rummest thing I'll read all month.

Context.

He has the ability to be a very good player, the reason he probably won’t make it is attitude, he thought he was already a top player and his  development has been slow. He recently became a father so he will grow up.

He's a bit like that kid who looks great in the playground or on the park - all the tricks,  impossible to get the ball off, bit full of himself - but when he plays in a proper game becomes totally anonymous.

Bit unfair, but let's face it,  he's had more than enough time here.

That's the context. And it is utterly ridiculous to suggest that. He can't command a first team place.

This is about opinion.  Mine is quite positive.  He could be made to look fantastic.  I put it into context by saying there are better options ( I named three from our current team).  It already seems our fan base are ready to up the scapegoat stakes on Gray.  I am one of a number of supporters recognising Gray had ability.  He lacks vision at times, his decision making can be questionable ( what attacking player does that not apply to) and, I believe, he lacks confidence.  With more confidence, which is hardly likely to be fuelled by our fan base, he would be a different player.

+1. I am (was) a fairly decent 5 a side player but might as well have been a traffic cone playing a full 11 a side match

Yeah - remember in my first game for the school I was at, the coach laid into me at half-time for not tracking back.

I said to him 'Well,  that's what we have defenders for,  innit? '

Still think it's a fair enough point...

Quite right you have to let them shine.

If we won a penalty the my mate ian wanted to take it. If we conceded a penalty then he swapped shirts with the goalie and tried to save it... his behaviour was sooo wrong

This is a Myth.

Thomas looked excellent in the two games he has played for us. Tavares has looked great last two games too. Both ‘ thrown in’ and looked good from the very moment that started playing.

Yeah and comparing him with youngsters that have not had any criticism Yet is a totally different scenario.

Can’t compare him to Thomas. Sheffield he played well, but let’s face it, they didn’t turn up. Morgan looked like a top prime CB in that game.

Spurs he was all over the place , not that I blame just him but as a unit we looked pathetic.

Utd was a game where they just knew we had no threat so didn’t care so much to attack us.

Hardly a good comparison with Gray.

Gray has not been given a fair crack for sure and as a winger you can’t build any momentum if your not given a fair chance.

Gray since lockdown:

He came on and did great vs Watford.

So got a start vs Brighton and imo, although we were embarrassing in that game, he did ok I thought.

that game was never going to work when BR set up with 2 DMs. Of course Gray gets the blame.

So unfairly he didn’t get a start because of it again? How’s that a good run?

He came on and made a good impact at Arsenal and came on and scored vs Sheffield Utd(finished off a chance in a game where we had missed a million chances before that).

He even looked threatening in a short cameo vs Utd!

I think in past seasons I understand the scepticism but for me the past season or so he’s looked stronger, fitter, better and is clearly improving, and at 24 will be hitting his peak. I really hope he gets a good run at RW over Perez and I believe he will do brilliant.

Its like when Vardy got stick in lockdown too for struggling at times but in reality the problem with this team is the creative side. We struggle to boss midfield and without Maddison(or when he’s shoved LW vs Brighton) we don’t get the ball high enough or create enough. This will be the main worry for me, not Gray.

you have misunderstood my point. it wasn’t about who has or hasn’t had criticism, it’s about wether you can play well without a consecutive run of games.

..he does not help himself...!!!

When it is not working he does not go looking for the ball, no endeavour and loses himself on the pitch. If you were to see him getting more involved working hard for the team, have the negative comments directed at him, would not happen. If it is not going for you, up your workrate, you could, in the end play yourself back into form.
