Got some harsh criticism today but because of the system we played he had no protection in front of him for the majority of the game.

 

He had to deal with both Mane and Salah and we were seemingly contempt allowing TAA to run up and down that wing unchallenged. 

 

A tough afternoon for Ben but it was more down to tactics rather than his own individual performance. He will improve once we switch back to 4-1-4-1 and play with proper wingers.

Not a great system for a full back, he had near enough no support at all against 2 world class players. He was so poor, but most players would've been

Absolutely nothing to do with having protection in front of him. In possession today he was abysmal.

He basically plays like Kyle walker in his early spurs days. He’ll be world class in a few year time.

Fine defensively and a great engine. End product doesn't exist though, runs down the line all day but 99/100 does nothing with it, which is fine against average teams just to stretch the opposition and tire them but against better sides they'll just give him space to run into and just wait for him to boot it too hard.

 

It is the only aspect missing from his game though, if he had end product he'd be going Madrid/Barca. Still years in him to improve.
