Justin?

“He’s a little bit of time. He’s a player who is off at the moment. He’s had no luck at the moment. But over this Christmas period, we’ll see if he’s available, but certainly he will be available in the second half of the season.”

I’m guessing he has been in the first team squad bubble.  If so, I doubt he will be allowed to jump across to the U23

That’s true, bloody shame the come back keeps getting pushed back with a little niggle, or illness which I believe stopped him last time for the under’s and now this as it pushes him into January before he can get a run out with them now I guess.

He’s back in training, think they’ll want him to play a development match before he returns to the squad. If that’s not possible, he might well come back first in the FA Cup match.

Doubt they can mix bubbles at the moment so bench for the fa cup or even Saturday (with no likelihood of coming on) looks most likely

Get him in the starting line up against Watford play him for 45 and Thomas for 45, think its better he starts than finishes the game.

I'd be quote surprised if they don't stockpile the U18/U23's with the 1st team bubble like we did back in Feb/March. Although maybe it's not in our interests to have academy players available and instead get games xalled off but at some point that's got to be nipped in the bud.

Would Covid prevent us from organising a behind closed door game? With a few players returning from injury/illness and some players like Nelson needing minutes to be ready if called upon.

wouldn't be the smartest move. The point is to limit exposure right now not increase it.

If it’s a behind closed door game, with minimal people there and everyone taking a test prior to playing then surely there is no problem?

you want the players to wear face masks?

there’s a recent story of a lady testing positive mid flight.now she would have had to  have a negative test before boarding but became sick during the flight, did a self test and was positive. Self isolated in an airplane toilet rest of the flight.

You can be exposed on a Tuesday, test negative on a Wednesday and then become sick and infectious on a Thursday. The test will only show who’s positive at the time of the test not who was exposed the day before.

they might do some training amongst the squad but I highly doubt they’ll invite anyone into their personal circle.

....as previously mentioned, LFT is not the most reliable and you would best rely on PCR test instead!!!

You could be falsely under the impression that you are ok and free from infection if you choose to rely solely on LFT.

Looks like JJ is finally going to be back playing some football, expected to play in the Under 23 game against Chelsea tomorrow at 12:30

Not the best game considering plenty of 23s needed in the first team but glad he’s getting minutes!
