What is Justins best position?...LB I assume.

I think all of JJ, Ricardo and Castagne would consider RB their best position and Brendan would too.

It just so happens that all three are arguably better than the other options at LB as well

I don’t think we will justin back to his best until probably the last few weeks of the season, if at all this season. Been out for a long time and we all saw how long it took Ricardo (who is equally as strong and athletic) to get back up to speed.

I suspect you’ll see him on the bench coming on, with the odd start in cup games. No point rushing him back when he’s still got plenty of time on his side and we have options available.

Well it would be perfect if he is able to play from late November when we have so many games. To be able to play two from Ricky P, Chestnuts and JJ, so each one gets every third game off, would be fantastic

Gives us another option at right sided CB as well

Who can say....  Ricardo came back around  early december got another injury in his first game back v zorya and was another 8 weeks out. Justin might have a smoother transition back into first team action. Also Justin has the option to ease his way back in playing as CB in a 3 a less demanding position on the body.

We recruited a new physio in the summer who specialises in recovering from ACL injuries, so this could aid his comeback compared to Ricardo as well.

Tbh, if JJ came back at his peak (unlikely, but let's say).....I'd play him.at LB and Tommy at RB.

Poor old Ricky left out! What a state of affairs when someone as brill as Ricky wouldn't make the team!

So would I, I think Ricardo will be moved on and possibly even as soon as this January.

Or play Ricardo further up the pitch?

Timmy and JJ can also fill into a back three. we have enough games to need everyone. And with it looking more likely that five subs will come in it will be easier to keep more players happy.

if we move to a back four it becomes a little more complicated but we need fit players and the past couple seasons have taught us that you need quality in depth.

Im sure ricky will be offered a renewal. If he doesn’t want to take it then we will try to sell him soon to maximise his value.

Don’t think I is anywhere near Rickys level or castagnes for that matter. Great option to have in reserve though.

If he's anything even close to the player he was before his injury, this will be like a new signing. I'm not going to judge him too harshly if he seems off the pace at first, because we've seen from the likes of Barnes and Maddison that it can be tricky to regain form after a layoff of any length of time.

Good to have you back in the fold either way, JJ.

JJ will be like a new signing, just give him time to find his confidence and grow back into the role.

He's a top quality defender and reads the game so well, he and Barnes were becoming a real partnership down the left side for us.

I just hope he gets back to his pre injury best.

Fair point.

You know it's all about regaining that confidence in the Knee when he goes into a few Tackles. That's the confidence I'm talking about.

With the facilities we have now though I'm sure it's pretty well tested by now. Still to do it in a competitive match carries that extra bit of risk, With so many kickers in the league.

Not convinced we would sale in January, unless it was a crazy offer.

I can't see that happening for  players who's form hasn't been great since coming back form injury

Oh I agree with your point totally. He won't come back immediately the same player. Those who suffer serious knee injuries rarely do straight away. Sometimes it's just a mental thing more than a physical thing.

We saw it with Ricardo. Took a good few months before we started to see what we knew he was capable of. The same will happen with Justin and Fofana.
